Being French-Canadian, I really enjoyed the quality and authentic favors, not to mention the presentation of this place. We had the great luck of being seated upstairs in the cosy intimate room in the back complete with real decor. The service (by Steven) was especially attentive and friendly. Being from Quebec and living in California, I really miss a good smoked meat sandwich. No surprise that in my visits back I have them as many times as I can. On this trip, I went to "The Best" one in Montreal then 3 more times in the province. But to my surprise, Phil's was so far above any of the others as far as not being too fat, flavorful, tender and moist! We immediately decided to get 3, yes, three pounds back with us to share with our friends. Life is good...
