This was on New Years day so clearly the place was packed. The host still managed to get my wife & I a table which I largely appreciated, but unfortunately that's where things took a negative turn.
We didn't wait long to order but then had to wait around 45 minutes for our food. The place was obviously understaffed especially considering the day it was. When our plates arrived, 2 simple eggs & sides plates, we were missing cutlery, salt, & napkins. Once we got those we finally got to dig in, only for my wife to notice there were no potatoes at all on my plate, & hers were few & burnt. We were so hungry at that point we just let it be & ate. To be fair, the food itself, aside from the potatoes, were good. One last note that bothered me is my fruit was only orange slices, no melon at all. Not the end of the world but again, it showed how little effort went into preparing our plates.
All in all, not a horrible experience but certainly not great. We will not return, especially with so many other close by options.
Belle endroit pour manger. Nous étions le 31 décembre , nous avons eu nos assiettes 1,5 heures après avoir eu notre place. C'était bon sans plus (beaucoup de sel). Les portions sont généreuses & bien présentées.
C'est le pire burger que j'ai mangé & ça été extrêmement long avant d'avoir nos plats. Certains clients arrivés après nous avaient déjà mangé & quittés avant que nous recevions notre plats principal. Nous étions presque les seules clients au premier planché mise à part une table qui semblait être des amis de votre personnel qui monopolisait leurs attentions au lieu d'offrir un service descent a leurs clients. Nous étions 4 adultes à manger un burger & il nous a été servi avec une boulette tellement cuites qu'elle était secs & brûlé. & je ne parle pas du pain qui semblait avoir passer la journée sur le comptoir. C'est inacceptable de servir cela à des clients. J'ai travaillé des années dans la restauration & jamais je n'aurais oser servir ces assiettes à mes clients.
Loved the food! 🤤😍 The strawberry flamboyant is a great value for a filling & delicious meal, 10/10! My bf got the breakfast tacos, they were a 7/10, lacked flavour unfortunately. The dessert taco was very yummy n good value for a dessert 🥰 Although we liked the food a lot, we waited 15 minutes for a table, with being the only ones waiting & only 5-6 families in the restaurant. The servers did not make eye contact until my boyfriend asked one to seat us. The server seemed to be having a bad day, she did not have very good customer service skills & was cold, but also seemed to be one of the only servers there, so it's understandable as the place seemed understaffed during the beginning of our meal. After we got our food, many people started coming in & more servers arrived, hopefully making the day easier on her. Overall a great food experience!
We visited Au Petit Chalet for dinner & tried the'Mr. Vendetta' burger. The food was good - not mind-blowing, but enjoyable, & the burger was decent. The restaurant is apparently more famous for its brunch, so that might be where it really shines.
The atmosphere & vibe of the place were definitely a plus. It's cozy & inviting, making it a nice spot to relax & enjoy a meal. Overall, a solid choice for dinner if you're nearby, though I'd be curious to try their brunch next time.
