About Us
Founded in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become a Quebec City institution and a figurehead for Quebec gastronomy, offering haute French cuisine inspired by the finest regional produce. Renowned chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his brigade use the latest techniques to pay tribute to local producers and offer a gourmet, refined and unique gastronomic experience.
Le Saint-Amour is one of Trip Advisor's Top 10 favorite gourmet restaurants in Canada (Travellers' Choice Awards 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020), and our wine cellar contains one of the 10 largest selections of wines in Canada, with over 15,000 bottles from around the world. Over the years, we've had the pleasure of welcoming celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour and many others who have chosen Saint-Amour when they visit Quebec City.
This recognition is in addition to the many awards received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay in recent years, including the title of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, the medal of Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France, the Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts de la Table, and the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Le Saint-Amour has been awarded 4 stars in the prestigious Guide Debeur (the guide's highest distinction) and was named Restaurant of the Year 2011. Chef Boulay is also renowned for sharing his passion with up-and-coming chefs, notably as a permanent judge on Radio-Canada's Les Chefs! for the past 10 seasons.

Tasty, beautiful food, in a romantic setting. We were able to dine, even though we did not have a reservation, we just did not seat in the beautifully decorated room, but that was ok. Both meals cost us more than the car rental & the Hilton bedroom put together, but I must say it was a nice meal, so it was worthy. The ingredients were top quality & the meals were balanced & filling. The amouse-bouche on the house was delicious too. There was one member of staff that tried to be funny, but I cut that interaction short in an assertive manner, & the rest went well. The restaurant manager/owner (?) was excellent, & gave us very good recommendations for drinks. The bill for food was 220 dollars, but with service fee, federal tax & Quebec City tax, the total bill reached 298.View more

For the appetizer there were 3 based on foie gras, so diluting the appetizer offering, we didn't get the little white box at the end of the meal like other people around us.
