Came here for breakfast during our recent stay at the hotel. Given the size of the Fairmont Frontenac, I anticipated its restaurant to be busy, especially in the morning. However, I was surprised to find out that it was almost empty when we arrived at around 7:30 AM. The buffet selections were fairly basic. It featured a decent range of savory & sweet items, including waffles, scrambled eggs, breakfast pastries, fruits, & an array of charcuterie like prosciutto & cheese. So I ended up getting only one plate, & some of the standouts included the freshly squeezed apple juice, the ham slices with horseradish sauce, & the croissant. However, the other items on my plate were fairly average in comparison. One of the servers insisted that we try their maple pudding, & it turned out to be a nice sugary finish to our meal. Its flavor & texture reminded me of honey cornbread drenched in maple syrup, & its comforting & homey taste was quite pleasing. For guests at the Fairmont Frontenac with complimentary breakfast included, the Place Dufferin buffet is a convenient & satisfying option. However, if you have to pay out of pocket for the buffet, I'd suggest exploring other breakfast or brunch restaurants around town as there are so many better options.Voir plus
My boyfriend & I went to tea time which is absolutely worth the money. You get free 3 hr valet service with a reservation & tea time only takes about an hour & a half, so that's free parking in Old Quebec. Everything we ate was fantastic with the surprising exception of the macarons, which were overbaked & crumbled immediately in the mouth. The tea service was incredible; I didn't know that tea could be that much better. The pear & maple panna cotta was a dream & the scones, which are served with mouthwatering clotted cream, jam, & marmalade, are like biting into a confusing pillow (in a good way). The savory sandwiches were great, & we especially loved the smoked salmon. There was also a wonderfully talented pianist who played during the service.
The brunch buffet is incredible, the food is so good, service is awesome. This is NOT "Le Champlain" with it's 80$ meals, it's the brunch buffet (around 180$ for 3 people, tax & tip included), same floor as the Terrasse Dufferin (when you enter the Château through the valet doors, go down one floor). We love it!Voir plus
Buffet délicieux pour le petit déjeuner, excellent service & vue sur la terrasse Dufferin.Voir plus
Amazing buffet, service very friendly, clean & organized, accept walk-in. Loved it.Voir plus
Fabulous place, but the afternoon tea itself was a letdown. The sandwiches & the cakes are very small. The Scones are alright, but the accompanying jam & the cream were very runny, unlike the British ones. The staff are attentive & friendly, but they don't really serve you much. The interior is nice & the atmosphere was great. They need to learn a lot from the traditional English afternoon tea venues in England.Voir plus
Amazing! I love the breakfast buffet that they offer. On our last day at the Chatue, we were served by the lovely waitress, Isabelle. She made our last day memorable & fun as she was very personable even if it was a short period of time. Thank you for your hospitality!Voir plus
Great place for a afternoon tea, pianist was great & service very nice, food was a let down, it didn't seem as refined as it should be & not very elevated. Very pricey for the quality of the food.Voir plus
Enjoyed the high tea which included a starter of a tiny panna cotta, two scones, one savoury, one regular with jam & cream, finger sandwiches of cucumber & another of smoked salmon, some prawns in a small pastry shell, duck terrine on a small brioche bun, pesto cream cheese on a small round of rye & three very small sweet pastries. It came on a stand, but not a proper high tea stand. It was OK. The high tea at the Fairmont Lake Louise was much prettier & had better food. Service was fabulous & great atmosphere which included a pianist, but were seated quite close to other patrons.Voir plus
Ordered a la carte. Oatmeal was the best we've ever had & the traditional was a great eggs & bacon option. Not the cheapest breakfast but great quality. Definitely coming back.Voir plus
We had the breakfast buffet here as the other hotel restaurants aren't open yet. The food was great, but there is so much to choose from that we probably would have been better to choose the a la carte option instead of the buffet. The restaurant is right on the Dufferin terrace, so you get to see the boardwalk but not the view of the river.Voir plus
Big fan of breakfast buffets, & this one takes the cake! Personalized omelets, & a great selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, fruits cheeses & other items. Everything was super fresh & tasted amazing!Voir plus
Tried the breakfast buffet on our last morning. Food was okay, selection for vegetarians/vegans was very limited. The crepes were good. Overall, the service was lacking as I was not offered tea or coffee when seated & I had to search for a waiter to ask for some juice. The check was placed on my table as soon as I sat down to eat my first plate of food, even though I was clearly not ready to pay yet. After paying, I realized the cashier had not asked for my Accor All membership to credit the points, & upon returning to ask for it to be added to my account, one of the hostesses standing around was extremely argumentative & unhelpful, even though I let her know my taxi was waiting. I've had much better experiences in four-star hotel restaurants.Voir plus
