We dropped by during a lunch break on an Intercar bus ride. Intercar seem to have an arrangement with Mikes for a special menu for the travelers to fit exactly in the time of the 45-minute stop, which is in itself a fantastic idea. But what is more the staff were very nice & cheerful & the food was great! Served in close to no time, the soup of the day was veggie & it was a proper chunky vegetable soup like you rarely see these days even in expensive restaurants, full of celery, carrot, green peas & red beans & other veggies. It came with a small fresh warm bread roll & butter & the table was equipped with plenty of extras like peanut butter & jam. The sous-marine (the sub sandwich) was also full of fresh veggies, some good meat & fried onions. It was accompanied by plentiful fries. What's also important, the bathroom was clean & had everything necessary. We were very happy with our bus lunch break! Highly recommended either as a stop in your travels or simply to have a good meal.

In sum: large portions sizes (breakfast & lunch), reasonably priced & delicious. Courteous, friendly service.

We stopped by Mikes after my partner completed his 125 km race at Harricana (UTHC). He fell asleep on the table & our waitress was so sweet about it & put the dishes on the table quietly so as not to wake him 😅 Myself & my children had breakfast & my partner had a small portion of spaghetti bolognese before he passed out. The veggie omelette was delicious & the portion size was large, so I shared some of my food with my teenage son. Our daughter had the kids crêpes & my son had the adult crêpes. The waitress was sensitive to the needs of our autistic son & made sure all his toppings were separate. Great experience to top off our time in La Malbaie. We will definitely be back next time.
