After a stressful train ride from Montreal, 1608 Bar filled my cup… literally! The drink menu is gorgeous! There's beautiful hand-painted photos of the drinks as well as a write up of the history, ingredients ands anything else. There's a cocktail specifically made for Anthony Bourdain. The Old Fashioned was out of this world-definitely in my top 5 ever! My server Henri was lovely & recommended some things for me to do while in QC! He was incredibly busy so it was nice to chat for a hot sec. The bar itself is masculine with dark wood, books & a fireplace. The views of the St. Lawrence are awesome (if you're seated near a window). The tables are tightly packed together so you so absolutely overhear (& possible even meet!) your table neighbors! The bathrooms are in the hotel (go to the 1st Christmas tree & turn left!) but there's several stalls. There's also several staff members if you get lost on your way back! Everyone speaks perfect English as well!

The food & cocktails are great. The bar & view is beautiful. The only issue we had was getting in. We went 3 days in a row & waited over an hour, before giving up & leaving.Finally got in on the fourth day. They don't take reservations. The hostess are very curt

Beautiful hotel!!! But the restrooms were not clean! For an upscale hotel - I would've expected cleaner facilities. 1608 Bar was very'speak-easy' & beautiful but feel the pricing for small plates & drinks was over priced. All & all was good to see a small portion of this iconic historical hotel.

We were staying at the Fairmont & this bar has been the best part of our stay... Beautiful decor, we were staying right next to a fireplace, very friendly staff & I also loved my cocktail. The Little snacks the brought us were also good so honestly nothing to complain, just a nice moment.

You simply need to stop here. Absolutely beautiful bar located inside the Hotel Frontenac with gorgeous views of the water & amazing cocktails. Meat & cheese board was also outstanding.

I would love to write a positive review because the 1608 bar is beautiful & looks very relaxing, but unfortunately I can't. My family was staying at the hotel & my brother & I decided to drop by the bar for a quick drink before dinner. We were rejected at the door because we didn't have a reservation, even though there were clearly a bunch of seats open at & around the bar, & plenty of standing room. We asked where in the massive hotel we could get a drink without a reservation & were told nowhere. I understand this hotel is a popular landmark, & therefore has lots of people coming by for dinner & drinks, but they need to ensure that the proper amenities are available for guests of the hotel.

Chris was fantastic! You could tell how much care & effort he put into each drink. He was so kind & knowledgeable, & it was amazing to watch him create drinks for customers!

The bar itself was beautiful, gorgeous views of the river & amazing staff!
