Based on the Italian philosophy, Battuto advocates simplicity, handmade, but above all, the pleasure of eating. Our greatest desire is to share our passion and our knowledge through a menu and a wine list that changes as our inspirations.

Battuto is widely recognized as a premier dining destination in Quebec City, celebrated for its exceptional quality, creative Italian-inspired dishes, and masterful culinary techniques. Visitors frequently praise the warm, intimate atmosphere and the opportunity to watch the professional kitchen team in action. While securing a reservation can be challenging due to the restaurant's popularity, the consensus remains that the attentive service, expertly curated wine list, and consistently delicious, well-balanced plates make the experience truly memorable and worth the effort.
Wonderful place! Great chefs, amazing kitchen, kind & warm service! Reservations are a must 1-2 months, ahead. First time choose the bar seats for the kitchen view. Strongly recommended, if you like the real Italian cuisine!
EXCELLENT food, every meal was perfect! We ordered each 3 services (I usually don't eat a lot) but the portions were perfect & worth it!
Tiramisu was excellent - large portion that we shared :) Coffee (allongé) excellent!
A little expensive, we paid a grand total of 250$ for 2 but again worth it, not a place you go to every week.
If you want to seat at the counter you need to specify it when you make your reservation, next time I will ask for sure.
Parking is free on the street if you can find one.
You need to make your reservation 3 months ahead, that's the only down side! Good job Chef!

I knew I wanted to eat at Battuto the moment I saw the Air Canada EnRoute magazine naming them the best new restaurant in Canada. The only issue was to obtain a reservation. Luckily for us, their online tool works well & I was able to secure 2 seats, even though the wait was MONTHS!
The arrival is friendly & intimate. Our coats were taken downstairs & we were seated at the counter right in front of the kitchen action. I was at first disappointed we didn't get a table, but I very soon changed my mind entirely & now think this is actually the way to go. We found a white wine from the North of Italy that turned out to be spectacular (Langhe) & started to order. Our experience was made even better by the fact we could see what was being prepared & going out to the tables, so we were always inspired to try this dish over that one, you know? This is why, along the course of the evening, we changed our initial "ordering plan" as we didn't have to place an order for the entire meal, but only small plates at a time. Sort of reminded me of Tozi in London. That's what we did for most of the Aperitivo (3/5) & Antipasti (4/7) sections. Then, after we ordered our sole pasta plate (Ragù cavatelli, superb), we were so full we couldn't even try anything in the Dolci section. This is one of the many reasons we have to come back.
The entire evening was just an amazing experience, so it's hard to name highlights, but let me try:
- The chef is right in front of us & we can ask questions!
- The carpaccio was to die for, even for someone like me who don't eat mushrooms. This plate was phenomenal.
- My second favorite dish was the (guinea fowl?) liver crostini.
- The service was perfect & apparently our waitress is also in charge of the music. You don't hear the band Teleman everywhere, so kudos on that!
Furthermore, while this not a cheap night out, the food is still reasonably priced. So yeah, if you do have the ability to book here, please do. You won't regret it one bit.
Battuto a essayer encore !
Merci !
