very mixed feeling about this place. apps (steak tartare & onion soup) were very good, but we were disappointed by the mains. for a place that has an entire section in the menu dedicated to risotto, I think what we got (a risotto cacio&pepe & a duck + foie gras) was everything but exceptional. while the taste was ok, the texture was completely wrong, rice was slightly overcooked, too watery & not creamy as a real risotto is supposed to be. it almost seems that they used a variety of rice with lower starch content. Given the price, reviews, & popularity of this restaurant, I was expecting much more. I just hope whoever claims this is the best risotto they ever had will eventually have the chance to taste a real one...

Bello is a gorgeous restaurant in the heart of Québec City, my husband & I enjoyed a lovely dinner here a few nights ago. We did not have reservations & Victor was amazing in getting us seated after a short wait. Definitely make reservations to ensure that you get in! We loved the bread from their brick oven, the veal, & the risotto! The ambiance is unforgettable, & Elza gave us great service. We highly recommend visiting Bello!

Superbe expérience Autant du service Que de la qualité des plats. Nous avons pris une entrée de fromage & tomates (style burratta) accompagné du pain maison & huile d'olives & comme repas, nous avons mangé un risotto de fruits de mer qui était Extraordinaire & une joue de boeuf braisée qui aurait nourri deux hommes. Accompagné d'un bon verre de vin, l'expérience était parfaite. On a terminé par un petit espresso lungo de qualité aussi. Coût: 200$ bien dépensé! Le service est exceptionnel avec des gens à l'écoute & qui opèrent une salle à manger pleine ! Je recommande de réserver même si l'on y trouve toujours une place. Suivi par une marche dans les rues isolées du vieux Québec pour y redécouvrir une architecture d'époque ; quelle belle soirée!! Bon appétit!

My wife & I ate here on Canada Day. Our flight had been cancelled the day prior so we found ourselves enjoying a wonderful day in QC. We stopped at Bello Ristorante for lunch & were seated at a very nice table (even though we were Americans! :-)). Our server was excellent. The food was exceptional. My wife had the seafood risotto & I had the linguini pesto. Both were the best we'd ever had in our 60+ years on this planet (including trips to Italy). We also had the homemade bread, it was divine. Strongly recommend trying this restaurant. I will be back the next time I find myself in QC.

Came here with 3 coworkers. Been here before in the past & it was awesome. This time however it was not what it used to be. Staff was present but not very friendly or bubbly. Was offered sparkling water but wasn't told there was a charge of 6 dollars for the bottle they brought to the table. Then was offered table bread, once again for a charge I wasn't aware of till the bill showed up. If you're going to offer these items you should mention there's a charge. My coworkers & I ordered 2 scallop appetizers & a french onion soup. One plate of scallops was decent enough. One plate was cold. The French onion soup wasn't anything to write home about either. Ordered two plates of the frutti di mare pasta & a mushroom risotto. Prices were a bit steep but it's pricier ingredients so I guess it's justified. The pastas had an odd taste & the one plate was also a bit cold. The risotto was ok but had a giant hard chewy piece. The Manager didn't charge for the risotto which was nice but unfortunately didn't make up for the rest of the experience. Was quite disappointed as in the past Bello was a highlight of our dining. Atmosphere is nice for a date night though. Pizza is usually good but their ovens are being renovated & weren't operating unfortunately. Probably won't come back again. Sorry Bello, I hate leaving bad reviews but you gotta step it up!

We loved the food & the amazing service we had. The wait staff as well as Blanche were exceptional & catered to our every thought. The food was amazing chef kisses all around from the mushroom risotto w truffle sauce, linguine with pesto, fresh calamari, the salmon & duck confi to the amazing bread & beautiful desserts especially the tiramisu was unforgettable. We will definitely return.

Ambiance superbe!
J'ai été déçu par le risotto, riz trop dure, pas assez crémeux & goût de citron trop prononcé alors que pas inscrit. Le steak manathan était incroyable! & les drinks OK.

Loved it..i had the risotto & the veal meatballs. Great service. Friendly staff. Spoke english which was great for us.
