Review Summary

La Barberie is widely celebrated as a premier destination in Québec City, praised for its exceptional craft beer variety, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, and its standout terrace which is frequently described as the best in the city. Visitors enjoy the casual, cozy atmosphere that is notably dog-friendly both indoors and outdoors, making it a comfortable spot for social gatherings and board game enthusiasts. While the food receives high marks for quality, flavor, and its ability to pair perfectly with beer, some guests noted the menu is compact and occasionally inconsistent, and others mentioned the seating can feel cramped during peak hours. Overall, the establishment is considered a must-visit for its unique beer selection, including popular slushy options, and its consistently warm, professional service that keeps patrons returning.

The vibe is nice, beer is awesome. I would not go there to eat a whole meal, the food is ok.

Enjoyed the Mucho Coco & the Coteaux Riesling - both were delicious. The service was friendly & I'm only sad I didn't have more time to try more beers or food. I can't wait to be back for my next visit when I'm in Quebec City!

A fantastic brewpub. Forgot the bartender's name but I was the only one here on the afternoon I came in & she was great company. The beers were fresh & delicious, good variety too. Prices were very reasonable.

Excellent selection of beers brewed on site, roughly 14 in total across all styles. They don't really have food, just some snack stuff like olives, meats, & cheeses that they serve in the packaging from the store. It's cozy, all wood, in what appears to be an old church. Located off of the main street. Highly recommended!

Nestled in the heart of Quebec, La Barberie - Microbrasserie is a hidden gem for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is an embodiment of comfort & relaxation, with a charming decor that exudes warmth. The wooden fixtures & cozy ambiance create the perfect backdrop for an afternoon or evening of sipping on craft brews. Speaking of the beer, it doesn't disappoint. I had the pleasure of trying the Mégafruits Raptor, & it left a lasting impression. The blend of flavors & craftsmanship was evident in each sip. It's a must-try for those seeking a unique & flavorful brew. The service at La Barberie is a highlight in itself. The staff is not only attentive but also incredibly welcoming. They're more than happy to guide you through their extensive beer menu, helping you find the perfect match for your taste. Overall, La Barberie - Microbrasserie is a haven for beer lovers. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with top-notch service & a selection of exceptional brews, makes it a spot you'll want to visit again & again. Whether you're a local or a traveler exploring Quebec, this microbrewery is a must-visit destination for an evening of beer, camaraderie, & pure enjoyment. 🍻🏞️ #QuébecBrews

One of the oldest brewpubs in town, for better or worse.
I've been here a few times, & had a wide variety of beers here, it varies wildly each time. Could be good, maybe even great. But the next time or next beer can be a trainwreck.
My rule of thumb is to stick with simple styles, & I have less of a chance to get disappointed.
Fortunately the place is fun, & staff usually really nice. They have board games, quiet nooks, & a nice terrace.
Didn't try the food made in a little section outside.
Maybe not the must stop place it used to be, but in the basse ville it's still on my list.
