4 stars...although we ate here twice this past weekend & our first visit was 5 stars! First visit - excellent service & food! We could not wait to return a few days later. On this second visit, service was terrible - long wait to order drinks & food, over 45 min wait after ordering for burned & 2 out of 3 pizzas were burned & overcooked. One pizza & pasta were delicious. One of our drinks didn't arrive until after the food. Pasta was still delicious, we ordered 2 desserts - crème brûlée was wonderful & the "crispy chocolate" was mostly uneaten - I'm not sure what was in the crust but it was soggy & tasted terrible. Then we waited, & waited... our waitress was finally seen with her backpack running out the door. We finally had to track down another server to pay our check. Another table had the same experience - we were there 2 1/2 hours & mostly ignored.
Had a wonderful dinner & bottle of Chianti. I had the lasagna, which was phenomenal. Seating is a bit tight. Service & staff are excellent. Highly recommend. We went back Sunday afternoon for pizza, which was excellent. Love this place!
I came to portofino fairly late in the evening. I was on a business trip & was in search of a good glass of wine & a delicious pizza. I got this & more. The staff were super friendly, despite my complete lack of French (I apologize). They were welcoming & attentive. The bar tender was quick to service me & I was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite wines on their menu, for less than I am used to paying at other locations. The pizza was wonderful, the burrata tasted as though fresh that day or perhaps a couple days. It was the perfect consistency, with a thin & well stretched exterior, & a creamy & delicious centre. I love that the bartender added fresh Parmesan when the pizza arrived & that balsamic vinegar was added to the top. The flavour combinations were great. Was an awesome first experience, I will definitely be back :) Thankyou, merci beaucoup!!
Wonderful dinner & all around evening! In a sea of French restaurants, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening of Italian cuisine! The atmosphere was lively & cozy! We enjoyed spaghetti bolognese & a lovely Italian sausage pizza. Service was friendly & accommodating. The live music was the icing on the cake! Thank you for the memorable evening!
We made reservations for 630, & good thing we did. It was a beautiful Saturday evening & it was busy! We were seated next to an old fireplace at bar level, with views across the restaurant & to the very entertaining pizza oven where we spent most of the night watching the chefs work their magic. We were greeted with a smile & our server Alexandra made us feel at home. When our food arrived, one of the staff was quick to come to the rescue when he noticed my veal was too small & told us that there had been a mistake. Only a few minutes went by & when our food arrived for a second time our plates were piled with food. I have never felt more appreciated, anywhere else, period. The level of customer service we received was out of this world & I ate every last bite. The crème brûlée hit the spot! Thank you for an amazing experience! We can't wait to come back!
Je suis un client régulier depuis plusieurs années & j'ai toujours apprécié le service & la qualité de la nourriture. Toutefois le dimanche 22 mai le service a été inacceptable. Les nombreuses jeunes serveuses , à notre arrivée , ont pris notre commande de cocktails , pour les recevoir 30 minutes + tard (oublié). À ce moment nous avons commander le repas pour ne rien recevoir jusqu'à ce que je m'adresse au Monsieur Pizza qui est heureusement intervenu en réalisant que nous avions été oublié, les entrées & plats principaux tout est arrivés en même temps......
Il y avait on dirait des pauses repas & un certain ballet de serveuses qui ne semblaient pas avoir de table attitrées, portant nous avons accepter de manger à 16H00 étant le seul moment de disponible lors de notre réservation. Le restaurant n'était pourtant pas bondé à cette heure.
Tres belle accueil de la part du personnel. Vous devez absolument reserver à l'avance car ce restaurant est très achalender. Pour moi, le Portofino ca doit faire partie des endroits lorsque je me rend dans le vieux-quebec. Le gout & la pâte à pizza est incroyable, je vous conseil fortement cet endroit!!!
