The place was exceptionally busy but the staff is very well trained & we never felt ignored. My wife had the shrimp & I had veal Marsala. Both were excellent & the portions are hardy. I do not hesitate to recommend

The hotel staff at Hotel du Vuex Quebec recommended Portofino. We had an 8:30 reservation, arrived 1/2 hour early hoping to be accommodated, & we were immediately seated. Service was excellent, & the food was very good. The Spaghetti carbonara was the best I've had in a long time. I would highly recommend Portofino.

I don't understand how this restaurant got a high rating. The food is mediocre. I had cannelloni & my friend had risotto. The cannelloni was burnt & dry on the ends & covered up with cheese & tomato sauce....not even a marinara. The Portofino appetizer for 2 was very good. Bread was cold ...right from the grocery store. The prices would have been ok if the food quality was great.....it just wasn't worth nearly the price they charge. I recommend visitors stay away from the restaurants near the Frontenac area. All of the meals I had were way below standard for the prices they charged. Instead, try the restaurants near Parliament building & Beaux Arts museums. I think they would have been better & they definitely were more appealing visually!
