Great chicken place. Tenders are gigantic & waffle fries are big too. Tons of dipping sauces & pretty good quality. Ranch is thick & my kiddo wanted to take the rest of her bbq sauce home with us. Sandwich sauce had the right kick to it. Prices are not too bad either. Great for quick family eats between hitting the sights!

Le menu'Le Coq' du Poulet Royal est un vrai délice ! Le poulet est croustillant à l'extérieur, juteux à l'intérieur, & accompagné de frites gaufrées dorées à souhait. Les sauces ajoutent une touche savoureuse à l'ensemble. Une excellente adresse pour les amateurs de poulet frit à Québec !
The fresh chicken bowl was great, I got the 4 Morceaux with grilled chicken. The peri peri & the garlic aioli flavors were both great, & the chicken was seasoned well & juicy. The grilled chicken sizes were a bit small, but it comes over rice with 7 different choice vegetables & is very filling. The addable ranch sauce was strange tasting, but the peri peri sauce was delicious. The staff were friendly & the service was quick. The restaurant & bathrooms were clean.
Avec un froid qui aurait pu transformer nos nez en stalactites, nous étions en quête de chaleur & de réconfort, parce que la faim, c'était devenu un troisième compagnon de route. L'idée du poulet frit, c'était comme une promesse de bonheur dans ce désert glacé. Après avoir parcouru les KM de la rue St-Jean comme des explorateurs arctiques, on a fini par atterrir au Poulet Royal à Petit Champlain, où un feu dehors faisait office de phare pour les âmes gelées comme nous. Une dame, gentille comme une mère poule, nous a accueillis en nous demandant si c'était notre baptême du poulet. Oui, c'était bien notre première fois dans ce sanctuaire du gras & du croustillant ! On était trois, affamés comme des loups, & on a commandé des combos festins 3mcx comme si on préparait un festin pour une armée. Des sauces unique : King, Buffalo, Ranch - on voulait tout tester, comme des enfants dans un magasin de bonbons. Quand notre commande était prête, le chef, avec une voix qui portait comme un speaker de stade, a hurlé : « La commande pour David! » « Order for David! » On s'est précipités comme si c'était le début des soldes au Wal-Mart. & là, le festin : du poulet frit qui aurait fait pleurer d'envie le Colonel Sanders. Chaud, croustillant, avec une panure à peine suffisante pour ne pas faire de nous des porcs. & les herbes ? Elles devaient être importées direct de l'Italie, parce que c'était un délice. Les frites gaufrées ? Un flashback direct au Chick-Fil-A, mais dès qu'une bourrasque de froid s'infiltrait par la porte, on revenait à la réalité. Mais bon, le Poulet Royal, c'était une leçon à Chick-fil-A : on peut être bon en poulet frit & en hospitalité québécoise. On reviendra, c'est sûr, pour découvrir ce qu'ils cachent encore dans leur cuisine. À bientôt, les sauveurs de nos estomacs gelés !
