In my opinion, a poutine served without the cheese curds melting is a big miss. A shame, the ingredients seem to be rather great, simply served without gravy/fries that were hot enough to make decent poutine.
Gravy was good, cheese was good, fries were a bit bland... Overall experience was just average. I've had quite better poutine, but it does the job! The atmosphere gives canteen, though - a bit loud.
I tried the poutine' montrealer', that was one of the best poutines I ever had!!! I really loved it!!
The gravy, potato,meat & the vegetables. The flavor on the veggies was awesome!!!
Service was great, just a little slow to notice we were ready to leave. We had to ask for the bill. Food came out warm at best, & fries tasted old. Gravy tasted like it came from a powder mix.
I went here the other day with my girlfriend & I had the classic poutine arguably the best if not one of the best poutines I've ever had. The gravy was delicious, the fries were fresh & crispy & the cheese curds were huge, squeaky & fresh as well as there being tons of them to the last bite. I definitely recommend this place.
We were looking for a quick, casual meal our first night in Quebec City, & wanted to try some poutine. We were not disappointed! It was an interesting & eclectic menu, including "poutines of the world." The one we ordered to share had a combination of the regular fries/gravy/cheese, as well as a host of other ingredients: bacon, hot dogs, chives (you know, the healthy stuff!).
Good, not great. Portions are enormous. I was full after the side order of poutine. Fries are good but lack a nice crunch, quite soggy in fact. Curds were unremarkable & a smaller crumble than I would prefer. The gravy was good, but a bit rosemary forward & lacked depth of flavor. I am not a fan of all the toppings, but if you are... There is a wide selection.
