About

Angkor Thom serves an authentic selection of Cambodian and Thai cuisine featuring complex spice profiles and aromatic ingredients. Traditional stir-fried noodle dishes incorporate fresh vegetables and proteins balanced with savory tamarind or lime-based sauces. Fragrant curries rely on freshly ground pastes of lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves to provide deep, layered flavor profiles. Steamed jasmine rice accompanies bold soups and salads characterized by a harmonious balance of heat, acidity, and umami. The menu emphasizes time-honored cooking techniques that highlight the natural textures of diverse regional components. Each preparation remains faithful to Southeast Asian culinary traditions, focusing on the integration of fermented fish pastes and coconut milk to achieve authentic regional depth.

Review Summary

Angkor Thom is widely regarded as a charming and authentic spot offering delicious, fresh, and traditional cuisine with generous portion sizes. Guests frequently praise the excellent service, refined flavors, and great value of the table d'hote options, often highlighting standout dishes like the curry chicken, General Tao chicken, and imperial rolls. While the restaurant is a local favorite that consistently satisfies diners, the high demand means it can be difficult to secure a reservation, making the bring your own wine experience a popular choice for those lucky enough to get a table.

Very nice asian restaurant with some authentic meals, as well as some popular North American classics like the General Tao chicken.

One of my favourite Asian restaurant in the Ville de Québec area: food was perfectly fresh, delicious, made with nice ingredients (like the big sea scallops & shrimps in some meals), provided in a generous portion & at a very reasonable price.

Excellent quality/quantity/price ratio.

Furthermore, when you order to go, they take the time to put the crispy fried noodles & the fried chicken apart, so you can add the sauce or drop the stir fry on the crispy noodles, so it's not soggy when you eat it at home. Nice attention to details & food quality.

I particularly recommend this restaurant as most of the other Asian restaurants that I reviewed so far around Québec city mainly offer individual portions & plates, which is not my preference: meals should always come in good shareable portions.

The personnel is courteous, attentive & kind.

Highly recommended.
