Archibald Microbrasserie is a popular destination in Old Quebec, widely praised for its vibrant atmosphere, beautiful terrace with views of the Château Frontenac, and an excellent selection of local craft beers. Guests consistently highlight the high quality of the food, particularly the poutine, pizzas, and various pub-style dishes, and many appreciate the restaurant's commitment to accommodating dietary needs and welcoming pets. While the experience is generally regarded as memorable and professional, visitors emphasize the exceptional service provided by the staff, who are frequently noted for their friendliness, efficiency, and attention to detail, making it a highly recommended spot for families, groups, and tourists alike.

The beer was great, but the first bite of the Archibald Pizza was nirvana. Best bite I've had so far in Québec City, & I've had some really good food the past two days. Will be back 💯 Definitely recommend!!
If you're planning to wander around Old Quebec in the summer & want to eat here - make a reservation. Every restaurant we walked into was packed & couldn't take us, especially as a group of six.
We stumbled upon this place around 8:30 PM, hot, tired, & hangry. Luckily, we only waited 10-15 minutes before they seated us - which honestly felt like a miracle at that point.
🍽? Service:
Like many places in the area, not much English was spoken. Our server seemed exhausted & a bit cranky, but to be fair, so did the rest of the staff. It looked like they were understaffed & trying their best during a heatwave, so we cut them some slack.
🍕 Food:
• My pizza (goat cheese & prosciutto) was fine - not my fave combo, but that's on me for ordering goat cheese knowing I don't love it.
• Chicken wings were chef's kiss - crispy outside, juicy inside, no batter coating, so bonus points for being keto-friendly.
• Tuna tartare was… fine. A bit forgettable.
• Kids' pepperoni pizza had the pepperoni under the cheese - which caused some minor confusion (& a moment of childhood betrayal), but it was there!
• The kids' menu includes dessert - ours chose the brownie, & both nearly finished theirs, so I'll take that as a win.
🌡? Note on ambiance:
Even at 8:30 PM, it was scorching hot & humid, which made eating a bit uncomfortable. I'm sure the food would've felt more enjoyable in cooler weather.
It's mostly a burger/pizza place where tourists stop to grab a bite. They have a double blond beer that is excellent. We went there three times to have that beer. There are better places to eat around there.
The food was terrific, exceeded expectations - had a Burratta Salad with a pizza between 2 of us, impressed with both especially the Burratta - very flavourful. Our server was also very good, we were well looked after from the minute we arrived. We would definitely return here without exception & recommend it to friends. Also have to say for the location in Old Quebec, the prices were more than fair & didn't seem to be taking advantage of tourist traffic - prices seemed local rather than elevated.
