I must confess, my adoration for the pasta & soup at this Italian restaurant knows no bounds. We visited without any appointments. We were in quebec city for few days & wanted to try something Italian cuisine. With this visit, I find myself enamored by the exquisite flavors & meticulous preparation that characterize these culinary masterpieces. The pasta, cooked to perfection, effortlessly captures the essence of Italian cuisine, while the soup, rich & comforting, never fails to warm both my heart & palate. It's more than just a meal; it's a symphony of taste that leaves me longing for another visit, eager to indulge in its delectable offerings once more. The style the menu had was so attractive.😍 Not only is the food a delight, but the impeccable service provided by CHARLES adds an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. His attentive care & genuine warmth make us feel welcomed & cherished with each visit. Moreover, Charles went above & beyond by orchestrating a memorable celebration for my husband's birthday, ensuring that every moment was filled with joy & festivity. His efforts truly exemplify the exceptional hospitality that sets this Italian restaurant apart, making it a cherished destination for both culinary delights & heartfelt experiences. I loved everything there❤️. Thank you for this lovely experience. It is definitely highly recommended!!

Came here with 3 coworkers. Been here before in the past & it was awesome. This time however it was not what it used to be. Staff was present but not very friendly or bubbly. Was offered sparkling water but wasn't told there was a charge of 6 dollars for the bottle they brought to the table. Then was offered table bread, once again for a charge I wasn't aware of till the bill showed up. If you're going to offer these items you should mention there's a charge. My coworkers & I ordered 2 scallop appetizers & a french onion soup. One plate of scallops was decent enough. One plate was cold. The French onion soup wasn't anything to write home about either. Ordered two plates of the frutti di mare pasta & a mushroom risotto. Prices were a bit steep but it's pricier ingredients so I guess it's justified. The pastas had an odd taste & the one plate was also a bit cold. The risotto was ok but had a giant hard chewy piece. The Manager didn't charge for the risotto which was nice but unfortunately didn't make up for the rest of the experience. Was quite disappointed as in the past Bello was a highlight of our dining. Atmosphere is nice for a date night though. Pizza is usually good but their ovens are being renovated & weren't operating unfortunately. Probably won't come back again. Sorry Bello, I hate leaving bad reviews but you gotta step it up!
Last night was my final evening in Quebec City, & realizing I hadn't yet tried French onion soup, I decided to visit Bistro St-Malo based on its excellent reviews. The soup & escargot looked too delicious to pass up. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I discovered it was fully booked due to Valentine's Day. Instead, I opted for pasta & went to Bello. To my surprise, I had a delightful evening. Upon entering, the interior of the restaurant differed from its exterior, boasting a modern & upscale ambiance. It being Valentine's Day, the staff were impeccably dressed, drawing attention from patrons. The waitress who served us was exceptionally beautiful & attentive, regularly refilling our tea & inquiring about our satisfaction with the meal, leaving a lasting impression. Other staff members were equally professional & friendly. Now, onto the food. Firstly, the French onion soup, while slightly pricey, was incredibly rich, & the combination of cheese & soup was heavenly. However, the taste leaned towards the sour side, so it may not suit everyone's palate. Secondly, my main course was TAGLIATELLE ALL'ANATRA, essentially wide flat noodles with duck strips & foie gras in a white sauce. The foie gras, semi-melted after heating, blended perfectly with the noodles, accompanied by a subtle creamy fragrance & a hint of acidity from the specially prepared white sauce, creating a wonderfully layered dish. Lastly, the tiramisu dessert, with its whipped cheese & lemon cake, provided a delightful ending to my dinner.
We had high expectations of this place but were somewhat disappointed. We didn't try pizza but pasta was average, too salty with not much flavor. The service was ok, we were sitted quickly.
AMAZING! I had to stop by an Italian place while on our trip to Quebec City as I love Italian & this place had great reviews. Now that I've been, I know why. Our experience was great from the moment we walked in. We had a reservation, but had to wait a little to be seated. This wasn't a big deal as we weren't in a rush & it was a short wait.. what stood out to me was that the host apologized multiple times for the wait & offered us champagne. As someone who studied hospitality, I was impressed. The vibe, atmosphere & decor is wonderful. There's a cute bar with a brick pizza oven in the front. We were seated & quickly realized how great this place is when we got the burrata to share - so good. We all enjoyed our dishes - veal parm, a spicy shrimp pasta, veal tartare, & cod. My cod with lemon risotto was fantastic! Thank you for a great dining experience.
This was my first visit to Bello on 10/16/23. The food was wonderful. My wife was born in Italy & is very hard to please when it comes to the food at Italian restaurants. But she loved Bello. As great as the food all was, the service was even better, something I rarely can say in this era of chronically understaffed restaurants. I believe our server's name was Brittany, & there were others who jumped in to clear plates, bring dishes from the kitchen, etc. My wife & I split the fried calamari, which was light, crisp, & perfectly cooked. My main course was the veal escalllop with wine, lemon & cream sauce. It was great. I do think it would be helpful for the menu to provide more information about the dish though. My veal came on a plate with pasta & vegetables, but that wasn't mentioned in the description on the menu, at least I didn't see it. It was such a plentiful plate that I might have skipped getting an appetizer, had I known how much food was coming with my veal entree. But, overall, we had a wonderful meal, in a great setting, & with excellent service. I can't wait to find a reason to make the drive from our home in neighboring Portland, Maine to eat here again! Thanks for a great experience, our best in Quebec City!
