We arrived in Quebec City & decided to try this place for dinner.. overall this place has so many drinks menu. The food is just OK. The pad seew was hard to chew, we asked them to recook & still same. Maybe that's the preference of locals here.. pad Thai was much better. Fried chicken was OK. I love banh xeo,, the price is moderate pricey. Staff is very friendly. They didn't charge the pad seew at the end. Hope they can improve next time
Had Happy Hour drinks & share plate dinner at this'Tiki' themed bar. The cocktails were good, Thai style fried beef noodle, seafood curry & deep fried shrimp wrap were delicious & satisfying. Friendly & attentive service made this a 5 star experience! Highly recommend.

The fried chicken was hard & the bao buns dry & doughy. It may be because it was so busy, but the food wasn't prepared with care. I imagine it would have tasted much better if it hadn't been overcooked. Outside of dinner rush you might have better luck. I did enjoy the dessert of mango sorbet. My servers were all very attentive & courteous as well. No complaints of the service.
We tried some of the shareables, which were fantastic (fried chicken, bo bao, & fresh spring rolls). The atmosphere was really nice, the place is smaller - more intimate - & they played a good mix of music (hip hop, pop, etc.). Service was also great, staff is super friendly, regularly checked in on us, & was extremely accommodating. I made the mistake of booking bar seats when my wife is pregnant, & even though it was busy, they immediately moved us to seating where my wife would be more comfortable.
My husband & I were visiting from Maine & had our anniversary dinner at Chez Tao. The atmosphere was fun, service was phenomenal, & it was the most delicious food we had while in Quebec! Our server (I wish I knew her name!) was wonderful about recommending drinks based on our preferences. We shared the vegan spring rolls, fried chicken, & pad thai, & all three were amazing- fresh & flavorful. I saw that many reviews mention not being able to make a reservation, but we were able to make a reservation online. The only downside was that parking was a bit of a challenge because they're in the midst of digging up the entire road the restaurant is on, but don't let that deter you!
C'est Magnifique!!!! We were in town visiting & were able to walk in on a Monday night around 8pm & get seats at the bar. They don't take reservations, so if you want to come here, plan accordingly! We were recommended this place by a local who we spoke to.
This was our best meal while visiting QC. In an unassuming spot, you'll find amazing cocktails, great music, & incredible bites all under one roof. Not to mention, the service was great. Special shout out to Thomas who helped us!
This is a rum-forward cocktail bar with an extensive menu. We had 3 cocktails altogether - the Meowth, Farang #2, & Hotel Corail. All were great with the bartenders paying special attention to all details, but the first two were our favorite.
For food, we ordered Nems, fried chicken, pork bao buns, & the Khao soi curry. Everything was bursting with flavor. We could not pick our favorite & would order everything all over.
The fried chicken is what they are known for & understandably so. It is a very generous portion & the chicken is so crispy delicious. It is slightly spicy, but not so much that any of the other spices are compromised. They have a special on Monday nights - unlimited fried chicken starting at 8:30 pm for $20. Would definitely come back for this.
Ngl - I judged the bao buns based on what I've had previously & I seriously misjudged. While I've had buns before that are chewier, these were flaky & soaked in the sauces so so well. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
The curry was so cozy & comforting. It was possibly the best I've ever had. It was so hard to stop eating it, despite being full already. It was absolutely perfect.
We loved Chez Tao & we can't wait to come back. Thank you for an incredible evening!
It was my first time here. I had heard good things about this place. They don't take reservations so when we got there, it was so busy! We had to wait about 20 mins for a table, but were able to order a drink while we waited. The staff are very nice. Service was great. We ordered the fried chicken & the pulled pork bao buns. The food was really good. The only thing I would say is that the bao buns could have used more cabbage for a fresh crunch. The drinks were great. Overall, we had a great time. Definitely recommend!
Restaurant has a cool vibe & is open late. Fried chicken was great & the service was friendly. Would recommend. One of my favorite places that I visited while in Quebec City.
Incredible chilli lime fried chicken, crispy outside juicy inside. Generous sized pork bao buns. Loved happy hour on the terrasse, very friendly service, will be going back!
