Chez Tao! offers a vibrant dining experience known for its creative and diverse cocktail menu, which pairs perfectly with a variety of flavorful, shareable Asian-inspired street food. Visitors consistently highlight the warm, inviting atmosphere and the exceptional quality of dishes like the fried chicken, bao buns, and pad thai. While the intimate, bustling space can sometimes feel a bit loud or dark, the attentive and friendly service frequently earns high praise, making it a favorite destination for both locals and travelers seeking a memorable meal in a fun, modern setting.
Had Happy Hour drinks & share plate dinner at this'Tiki' themed bar. The cocktails were good, Thai style fried beef noodle, seafood curry & deep fried shrimp wrap were delicious & satisfying. Friendly & attentive service made this a 5 star experience! Highly recommend.
Pretty good, they hit the flavors in a safe way that won't overwhelm. If you like Thai/east asian dishes they know what they are doing. Lots of flavor bombs going on.
Most dishes are fairly small & can be shared. I think I would have like to be with more people to try more items before getting full!
While a lot of these items' authentic versions would be on the spicy side , these are on the mild end of the spectrum. I suspect if you want some real spiciness you'd have to ask when you order.
My husband & I were visiting from Maine & had our anniversary dinner at Chez Tao. The atmosphere was fun, service was phenomenal, & it was the most delicious food we had while in Quebec! Our server (I wish I knew her name!) was wonderful about recommending drinks based on our preferences. We shared the vegan spring rolls, fried chicken, & pad thai, & all three were amazing- fresh & flavorful. I saw that many reviews mention not being able to make a reservation, but we were able to make a reservation online. The only downside was that parking was a bit of a challenge because they're in the midst of digging up the entire road the restaurant is on, but don't let that deter you!
It was quite late at night at around 23h00 when we craved some Asian food as we were walking around the Château, pulled Google, & found Chez Tao! that's fortunately closing at 01h00.
There was construction going on during our visit, so the travel to reach the establishment was frustratingly exhausting, but as soon as we had sat down (parking was quite tricky) & our server (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) took our order of Vegan Pad Thai & a Yuzu cocktail (I think it was!?), everything else didn't matter because the food & drink were ★★★★★!
We had only ordered one for two people to share, & it was more than enough! We were left full & satisfied. We'll definitely visit again!
