🍫 Choclatérie de l'Île d'Orléans - A Sweet Escape Near Montmorency Falls
Just a short drive from the stunning Montmorency Falls, tucked away on Île d'Orléans, is one of those places you don't just visit - you remember. The Choclatérie here is more than just a stop for dessert; it's an experience.
We went for the Nutella scoop, & honestly, it was out of this world. Smooth, creamy, & perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. But here's the secret - there's so much more that many visitors walk right past without noticing.
✨ Hidden gems not to miss:
• The chocolate-dipped cones with unique local flavors (hint: ask for the seasonal fruit drizzle - it's not always on the board, but it's unforgettable).
• Handmade truffles crafted with Québec-sourced ingredients - delicate, rich, & a perfect souvenir to take home.
• Their frozen chocolate mousse cups (easy to miss in the display!) are the kind of treat that you won't find in big-city dessert shops.
• For true chocolate lovers, the dark chocolate bark with local berries is a must-try.
The place itself feels charming & welcoming, with scenic views of the island that make your ice cream break feel like part of a perfect Québec road trip. Parking is easy, the staff are friendly, & you can even catch a glimpse of the chocolate-making magic inside.
🌟 Pro Tip: Visit here after walking the stairs at Montmorency Falls. It's the sweetest reward for your effort, & it turns the trip into a memory worth sharing.
If you're in Québec City or planning a day trip, this stop is non-negotiable. It's one of those local treasures that deserve way more attention than the big chain spots.

Such a good spot, I keep coming back! The ice cream & the atmosphere are extraordinary.
But be aware, this spot is now a tourist destination & sometimes bus loads of people will all wait in line at once.
Stopped into this awesome shop on our tour around the island. Delicious Ice cream, baked goods & iced coffee. What a nice location lots of parking & places to chill out & enjoy!
The best tasting ice cream! Also the price is really really friendly! I got the small cup ($5.49) which is usually the size of medium or even large size at other places I have gone to.
Offers a sweet atmosphere on the island but the ice cream is definitely overpriced for the quality.
Its bougie, has ample parking... nice little garden with tons of chairs... pictureque... beautiful garden, flowers... plan to sit outside while u enjoy ur treats... easy access to the water front... we got Espresso shots which was amazing, the raspberry icecream was too good! The chocolates were divine... not expensive at all... considering the quality, packaging etc. Come here after burning some calories at the falls... dont eat the crap icecream there... its a very short drive...
Great ice cream with chocolate cover. Also a chocolaterie in the lower floor. Nice place to visit in Orleans island.
Nice spot, lots of parking. A good place to try chocolate & ice creams.
Got the caramel ice cream, which was the best ice cream i have had in years. Scoops are huge & staff is english friendly
