About

Chocolaterie de l'Ile d'Orléans specializes in the artisanal production of premium chocolates and decadent cocoa-based confections. The menu features a diverse selection of hand-crafted truffles, flavored ganaches, and solid bars that utilize high-quality ingredients sourced for their depth of flavor. Beyond traditional sweets, the establishment offers a variety of rich, creamy ice creams crafted with authentic techniques that emphasize pure, intense flavor profiles. Visitors also find a selection of straightforward sandwiches prepared with fresh components, providing a balanced savory counterpoint to the sugary offerings. The shop maintains a focused retail environment where the emphasis remains entirely on the technical precision of the confectionery craft. Every product is prepared with an attention to detail that ensures consistency across the entire range of house-made treats available for purchase.

Review Summary

Chocolaterie de l'Ile d'Orléans is widely regarded as a must-visit destination for its exceptional chocolate and highly praised ice cream, particularly the chocolate-dipped cones. Visitors frequently highlight the charming atmosphere, beautiful setting, and lovely views of the river as key reasons for stopping, though many note that the popularity of the location often leads to crowded conditions, long lines, and parking challenges. While the majority of reviews celebrate the high-quality products and friendly service, opinions on pricing vary, and a small number of guests have expressed concerns regarding staff interactions or service consistency. Overall, it is considered a classic stop for those exploring the island, offering a delightful experience for both locals and tourists alike.

Wow! You have to try the chocolate covered soft serve vanilla ice cream. They have three options to choose from- Milk, Dark or Salted Caramel chocolates. The gelato is also delicious with generous portions. We went there twice, the line moves quickly & while the menu is in French, their service in English was flawless. They have nice seating areas outside with a nice view of the river.

Very generously dipped soft serve ice cream. Not sure how people finish the medium or large. Highly quality chocolates. Highly recommended.
