I can't remember the last time I've been this happy to stumble into a new place. This is a very special restaurant... The most delicious casual food (fancy macaroni & cheese, fried chicken, etc) you can hope for. Amazing staff. Awesome playlist. Just the most FUN vibe. I was torn between the Mac & Cheese & the chicken & waffles so the guy tells me to get a dish that's fried chicken on bread stuffed with cheese. I thought "okay, maybe it'll be good". Ten times better than I could have hoped for. Chicken was perfect, bread was exploding with decadent melty cheese. It was already too much food but I got the brussel sprouts just so I can taste more... Covered in blue cheese & perfection. Beer was great. This is a 10. Please support these wonderful people.
Really nice staff & tasty food. We had burgers & a delicious grilled cheese & for dessert they had the most delicious brownie made with sweet potatoes. The menu has something for everyone, from sandwiches to pasta & lots of vegetarian options.
Great atmosphere, but the food disappoints. We were visiting Quebec City & were excited to go here given it had quite a lot of veggie/vegan options & was highly regarded in a few websites. To start, the servers were overwhelmed with number of customers so no one came to even give us the menu until 10 minutes after we were seated. Suggest they keep those small things with QR code so we can atleast start looking at the menu They didn't have an English menu, which is fine as we appreciate we are tourists & not all places can accommodate but when we ordered our food & mentioned to the server a few times that we are vegeterian, one of the dishes that came out had meat which they swiftly helped replace & apologies so that was nice of them but I think this is a struggle us vegetarians are often tired of & hope not to go through. The food however which is what I was most excited for was not noteworthy which is honestly such a shame because the chefs worked in harmony & it was beautiful to watch. The Scooby Doo Mac & Cheese was lacking (for context I'm from the US) & the Brussels sprouts on top while perfectly done were missing that thread which would tie it together with the pasta. However the kung pao hot dog was delicious & the poutine was good.
Wir haben uns Essen zum mitnehmen geholt. Die Cheeseburger waren ohne Salat und Tomaten (also bestanden nur aus Brot, Fleisch, Soße und Käse). In der Speisekarte stand das definitiv anders. Haben wir dann natürlich erst zu Hause gemerkt. Definitiv nicht zu empfehlen. Ich werde hier kein Essen mehr holen.
We saw this place on Food Network's Big Food Bucket List, so we gave it a try. A nice little place off the beaten path (less tourists), but accommodating our lack of French abilities by serving us in English. They call themselves a "Small "Retro-Punk" neighborhood restaurant" & the decor & music were definitely to that image but in a fun & friendly way. My wife had a Montreal hot dog (hot dog with coleslaw) while I had the Diner Burger with waffles in place of the bun & we had fried onions & classic poutine as sides. They also had a small selection of alcohol free beer, which is greatly appreciated as I like beer, but I don't like drinking when I am eating out & have to drive somewhere. I got an alcohol free IPA by Ras L'Bock which had a great citrus note that paired very well with the Diner Burger.
The Diner Burger is very big & the waffles definitely add to the massive size. Great flavour with the fried onions & bacon, it filled me up. The fried onions had a salt & vinegar flavour to them & the classic poutine with real cheese curds is a must. Glad we found this place!
Bon, on à attendu près d'un an à venir bougé une fesse au Diner (on avait un peu la flemme j'avoue ?) mais là, franchement, c'est rendu mon resto préféré.
Bouffe extra, serveuse extra, ambiance... tout pareil. Gros coup de coeur pour la sauce au bleu & Buffalo avec les choux de Bruxelles frits & le poulet frit.
Le Mac & cheese rendu juste excellent.
On s'est taper la cloche à s'envoyer presque l'ardoise à deux plus 2 burgers & le brownie mais, par tous les saints & leurs roubignolles, ça valait le coup & on reviendra à coup sûr !!! Merci pour l'accueil & la qualité des plats & du service, changez rien, vous êtes vraiment bons ! 👍🤙
Wow! Nous avons découvert ce resto lors de la cheese week & avons aussi essayer d'autres plats & nous avons adoré. Excellent service & très belle soirée !!!
