We had a fabulous meal at Spices of India with our family. Attentive service, & great food. We had-& highly recommend- samosas, butter chicken, chicken curry & several other dishes. All very fresh. Many vegetarian options. This small family restaurant is a gem!
The food was great. we tried a variety of dishes & all were freshly made & delicious. I had the chicken curry with moderate spiciness (2 peppers), it was the best curry that I have ever had, was hot (which I liked). The restaurant is small, unassuming & located below ground. The staff of this family run business were super attentive & friendly to our group of seven. The chef came out during dinner to make sure we were enjoying our meals.
★ PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. THE OWNER MAY TRY TO DEFEND THIS REVIEW, BUT THIS IS THE TRUTH. ★
1. Visited this restaurant this week for lunch during the heat wave in Quebec.
2. The restaurant is located in a basement with NO AC, NO FAN, & very dim lighting, making it extremely uncomfortable.
3. The table was dirty & unhygienic when we arrived. We ordered Basmati Rice + Kadai Chicken.
4. The quantity was very less for the price - definitely not value for money & the food was full of food colors, which is concerning & not authentic.
5. After such poor food & service quality, the staff still had the audacity to expect a tip, which I declined.
Overall, the experience was disappointing & not worth visiting.
Yesterday, I visited this restaurant & tried their Dal, Naan, Naga Chicken, & Ice Cream. Everything was absolutely delicious!
The Daal was the absolute highlight for me-it tasted just like my mother's cooking, which felt so comforting. The Naga Chicken & Naan were also a great combination. Lastly, the Ice Cream had a very unique & different flavor profile that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for good food & comforting flavors!
They provided excellent food. Had the Naga Chicken from them & turned out to be a wonder in Quebec city. Never expected somebody to give naga chicken all the way in Quebec.
Very disappointed…not even worth a single star. I ordered chicken tikka masala & chilli chicken curries for take out. I was told to wait for 15 mins..but ended up waiting for almost 45 mins. The total price of the two curries came to $36 but not even worth $6 to be completely honest. It literally felt like eating plain boiled chicken as it was didn't have any any flavour. So in short, very very expensive & not even worth a single penny. The quality is indeed worth questioning.
I don't understand how someone could just fool customers who spend a lot of money by serving something garbage. This business shouldn't be allowed to exist..the license would be revoked.
Terrible experience today. The food was overpriced & honestly not worth eating. We waited far too long to get served, which made everything worse. The most confusing part was the chicken curry tasting like fish curry. Completely ruined the meal. Definitely not a place I'd recommend or visit again.
