I tried their combo meal & chicken briyani. The food was good. Is it authentic Indian food? Not 100 percent. I believe it's also the fact that they could have tailored based on their customer feedback as well.
But honestly it's not like the reviews I see. My personal experience was good.
Wonderful Indian restaurant with authentic flavors & warm hospitality! The dishes were rich, well-spiced, & beautifully served. Perfect for both family dinners & group gatherings - everyone at our table enjoyed it. A must-try spot for real Indian food lovers.
I recently tried the Rice Dal & Dal Makhni from Spices of India, & both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Rice Dal had a comforting, home-style taste with the perfect balance of spices - simple yet full of flavor. The Dal Makhni was rich, creamy, & cooked to perfection, with that authentic slow-cooked taste you expect from a great Indian kitchen. Together, they made for a wholesome & satisfying meal. Highly recommend Spices of India for anyone craving genuine Indian flavors!
We visited here with a hope to taste the Indian food in Quebec. We ordered Chicken Tikka, Chicken Biryani (as they call it) & garlic naan with green chilli chicken Curry. Every item was packed with a surprise 😳 for me.
Surprise No.1 : Chicken Tikka - we ordered thinking it's an appetiser. Instead it was served with Rice (Adhi dha Surprise😅)….
Surprise No.2: I ordered chicken Biryani but what I got looks more like Chicken Pulao that's not the Surprise part….Surprise part is no Raita with Biryani (Hyderabadi's knows its importance). For that we need to pay.
One more surprising part is that we found a broccoli 🥦 in the biryani…. I don't know if chef was trying to make a healthier version of Biryani….
Surprise No.4: green chilli chicken gravy style…. I thought it would be served as a gravy style of chilli chicken…. But instead it is green chilli in a normal chicken gravy.
Overall I'm not satisfied with the food….& suggestion to the restaurants'Pls don't call pulavs a Biryani'. If you are serving just the pulav, pls mention chicken Pulao. We will keep our expectations low.
My wife & I are avid East Indian diners. This was a great food experience. The chicken biryani was spicy & flavourful. The lamb tikka masala was also delightful & flavorful. Our naan was hot, fresh & light. The staff were quick & very attentive. Great portions & value for the price. A recommend.
We tried a mix of dishes-butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer tikka, & garlic naan-& honestly, everything was full of rich, traditional flavors. The butter chicken was creamy & perfectly spiced, & the naan was soft, fresh, & loaded with garlic-just how we like it. Portions were generous, & everything came out hot & fresh.
The service was great too. The staff was super friendly, quick, & even adjusted the spice levels just the way we wanted. The vibe of the place was cozy & welcoming, with soft Bollywood music playing in the background, which added a nice touch.
We ended the meal with mango lassi & gulab jamun, & both were absolutely delicious.
Whether you're familiar with Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a total gem. Can't wait to go back!
