My wife & I are avid East Indian diners. This was a great food experience. The chicken biryani was spicy & flavourful. The lamb tikka masala was also delightful & flavorful. Our naan was hot, fresh & light. The staff were quick & very attentive. Great portions & value for the price. A recommend.
We tried a mix of dishes-butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer tikka, & garlic naan-& honestly, everything was full of rich, traditional flavors. The butter chicken was creamy & perfectly spiced, & the naan was soft, fresh, & loaded with garlic-just how we like it. Portions were generous, & everything came out hot & fresh.
The service was great too. The staff was super friendly, quick, & even adjusted the spice levels just the way we wanted. The vibe of the place was cozy & welcoming, with soft Bollywood music playing in the background, which added a nice touch.
We ended the meal with mango lassi & gulab jamun, & both were absolutely delicious.
Whether you're familiar with Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a total gem. Can't wait to go back!
I ignored the -ve reviews since wanted to eat Vegetarian Indian food & this was close by & in the end it was a good decision. We ordered rice dal tadka & couple of more veg dishes & the food tase was very home like & we did enjoyed it & in the end we took parcel of couple of dishes for later. The service was good & only thing you can say it the decor & place ....its in basement & has a very old set up ....other than that it was a good experience.
Loved it food was awesome & service was just fantastic.everything is fresh & hot.server was too helpful. We ordered dal, paneer , garlic nan n rica n salad. Quebec city have many few places to eat indian food. This reataurant was whole day open from 2 to night. I just recommend you this restaurant for indian tourist. We told them to make it spicier than usual spice level.
I had a late lunch/early dinner at this restaurant yesterday. I love curry & where I live in the US, there are no Indian restaurants nearby. So, what a treat to find one while exploring Quebec. First, the restaurant is located in a desirable section of Quebec where the street is a pedestrian-only street that is lined with many cafes, restaurants, bars, & small shops. A must see! Spices of India is located down basement steps in an historic building. So there are no windows in the restaurant which means the ambiance is a tad dark. Not a problem for me. Because it was mid-day, the place was empty except for one other table. I ordered two dishes & some naan. While I was waiting for my meal to arrive, the other table, a party of six, complained that the food did not taste authentic. The waiter explained that's how they cook it in Quebec. The table & the waiter exchanged some more words about the food, they paid, & left. My food arrived. It looked so yummy. But at first bite, I could see what the other table was complaining about. Both dishes were very bland. Not one hint of curry spice in either dish. I was disappointed. I stole a salt shaker from a nearby table to help bring out some flavors. The salt made it more palatable. I was super hungry when I arrived, so I ate both dishes. & I told the waiter the food was good. But in reality, I think the chef missed the mark. Or perhaps the locals prefer bland foods. IDK. The naan was yummy, however. The service was good. But the food could use more spices to make it more flavorful. I am not talking about adding spices to make it hot to the taste, just enough to taste like a real authentic curry dish. Lastly, if you hope to order a stiff drink with dinner here, as an FYI, this restaurant is a carry-in-your-own-booze place.
Food quality is good. Nice place to enjoy Indian cuisine in Quebec City

Amazing service. The best Indian food we've found in Quebec City. & prices seems very low for the quantity you get.
Service impeccable. Les meilleurs mets indiens que nous avons trouvés à Québec. & le prix semble très bas pour la quantité que l'on reçoit.
