The place was jam packed, we unfortunately didn't have a reservation but they still made room for us. There was a wait for the food but with everything going around & the great people working they're talking to us & going out of there ways to make our experience unforgettable even if they were swamped made our night one that we will not soon forget. The barmaid kept us company while working & took care of us through the evening & .add time fly by.
The drinks & food was incredible. This restaurant will be a must visit everytime we come back to visit Québec.
5-Star Experience here. Our family (my husband, our 2-year old son & I) is going for an East Coast Road Trip from Ottawa. We stopped here for a mid-afternoon early dinner. We saw this restaurant featured at #Beardmeetsfoood YouTube channel & decided to try it out. We love everything about our experience. The moment we came in, we were welcome & accommodated in English (I don't speak French but my husband understands a little). We were given a spot where our 2 year old will be comfortable. We didn't even have to ask where would we go if we needed to change our toddler's diaper because we were given that information after we were settled in our table. We were even provided WIFI information without asking. Food was really good. We ordered Alchemist Platter & we enjoyed everything. Salad was delish, my son devoured the soup, the confit chicken was so tender & delicious, the peppercorn steak was tasty, the Kraken is so so good. I love the barley & potato wedges as well. The complimentary bread was warm & the honey butter is so so good. My husband ordered the Dark Sun & I ordered the Red Dragon. Both drinks were really good. May I add how attentive the servers are, my son started to cry as he is getting bored & the server brought him a complimentary apple juice served in a small barrel wooden glass, my son loves it! We are already planning to come back on our way back to Ottawa to try other dishes. Highly recommend if you're going to Quebec City area.

Of all of the places I visited in Quebec City for food & drink, I have to say this was my favourite.
Between the cozy medieval tavern atmosphere, the amazing time period accurate food & the tremendous service from our innkeeper Fasoul this restaurant made me immediately start planning another trip to Quebec City.
If you are a fantasy fan, or just like interesting dining experiences, I can't rate them high enough!
Make sure to try their'dice of destiny' roll a d20 & get a mystery shot corresponding to your roll!
This place is league of its own. We got the bottomless brunch. The table bread, creamy whipped honey bitter & homemade strawberry jam were chef's kiss. The bottomless brunch was phenomenal. The atmosphere was unmatched as were the drinks & the staff. Highly highly recommend, even if you're not a medievalist. Staff was kind, bilingual, & kept in character.
Came back a year later & we got fish & chips (phenomenal) & burger (just ok) service & experience phenomenal. Would definitely come by again.
Excellente soirée entre amis. Choix de menus très intéressants avec d'énormes plateaux repas à partager entre 2, 3 ou 4 personnes selon les options.
Choix de drink intéressants. Nous avons adoré tirer au dé 20 nos shooters & voir la surprise une fois servis. Nous n'avons pas eu la chance de rouler un critical fail (1), mais l'avons toutefois commandé par curiosité. Oups...
Le keg de bière fut mémorable.
Ambiance très plaisante dans un décor mythique, musique médiévale agréable & service offert avec des personnages magiques digne d'un film médiévale.
Great original food & drink with fair price & the ambience is festive with the medieval setting. They event have a bard to entertain you who play old instruments.
J'y suis allé une bonne dizaine de fois & à chaque visite, c'est un sans faute. Le service est excellent, on se prête au jeu & la bouffe est très bonne. Je prends toujours le festin royal & le tout est parfait; jamais déçu!
La dernière fois que j'y suis allé, c'était un mercredi soir & c'était assez tranquille dans le restaurant. Par contre, le serveur s'est bien assuré qu'on ne s'ennuie pas en suggérant que ce soit la fête d'un de nos convives! J'étais accompagné d'amis qui n'étaient jamais venu à la Chope & on peut dire que ça ne les a pas laissé indifférent.
Je recommande fortement à quiconque n'a jamais essayé ce genre de resto! Ce qui est bien c'est qu'ils pourraient se fier uniquement à leur concept sans plus & ils auraient leur clientèle; mais au delà de cela, la nourriture & les drinks sont super. On propose également une grande variété d'hydromel, ce qui est assez unique à ce resto.
Bref, j'y retournerai à coup sûr. Merci à toute l'équipe.
Wow quel ambiance que nous retrouvons dans ce restaurant. Nous avons eux une grosse attente pour passer notre commande une fois installé à notre table. C'est vite oublié quand le troubadour arrive à l'étage & fait lever le party. Frappe sur les murs & les tables pour appeler le serveur qui était super gentil. Il nous a bien expliqué le menu. Nourriture délicieuse & copieuse. Les drinks dans les chops agréable. Nous étions de jeune enfants de 4 ans & ils ont adorés.
