I am not usually thrown off by a place but extremely slow service & snot in my potatoes is something to write about.
My partner & I travelled from Montreal & went here on a beautiful Saturday for brunch & unfortunately had a terrible experience.
Our waitress Julia took our drink order but after bringing us our drinks we were completely ignored for about 30 minutes. There were only 4 tables at this point & 3 of them had been served.
We had been ready to order for about 25 minutes & were considering leaving & going elsewhere. She eventually realized she had forgotten us & came to the table & asked if we were ready to order like as if we hadn't just sat there for half an hour looking around.
We quickly ordered our meals but before I could tell her that we were going to share a strawberry waffle for dessert she had walked away without asking if that was all.
During this experience we were sat in a spot where the kitchen door was opened & I could see inside.
Its normally nice to see your food being prepared but in this case what a saw was a kitchen worker (tattooed arms & wearing a cap) sneeze in his elbow & then wipe his nose with his hand, he then proceeded to grab fried breakfast potatoes & plate them without washing his hands in between.
I am not one to return my food so I avoided the potatoes & just ate my eggs.
Needless to say my partner & I skipped the waffle & will never be going back.
We both felt extremely unwelcome during our time there & no one came to check on us during our meal.
I tipped 15% despite the terrible service but I would advise anyone travelling through here to skip this brunch place & go elsewhere.
Lovely little restaurant.
Breakfast spots can often be hit or miss, but La P'tite Sortie is anything but. The food is simple, very high quality, fresh, & genuinely delicious.
We went three days in a row while visiting the region, & every meal was a hit for the whole family.
Service was fast & friendly, & they accommodated all our requests with a smile, even as we were rushing off to a hockey tournament.
We all left with the same takeaway: this is hands down the best brunch restaurant we've ever had.
Such a lovely place to eat brunch in Saguenay, I would definitely recommend this place. The mushroom waffle with benedict eggs were so delicious.
