Unfortunately, compared to what's available nearby, the food was uniformly poor. Hot chocolate was warm milk with a hint of chocolate. Crepes were soggy & tasted like pancake batter, toppings seemed to be from a can, salads were'cafeteria' quality, not cold or crisp.
Don't get sucked in to this place. Very disappointed in this restaurant, especially considering its premium location right next to the renowned Chateau Frontenac. We ordered the Trio fondue - cheese, meat & chocolate. The cheese fondue came & the bread was already stale - ok, no big deal. We quickly finished that course, but then waited ages to have it removed. Finally the 2nd fondue arrived. Broth that was basically French Onion soup stock & thinly sliced beef. It was ok - not amazing but decent. However, once again we had to wait eons for our plates to be cleared & the next fondue course served. After nearly 2 hours there, we still had not received our 3rd course. Our server was all over the place, but not checking in with us. The maitre'd only seemed interested in seating people & keeping an eye on the door - he was evidently the boss but did nothing to expedite service (like serve water or bar drinks). Extremely lazy. . I saw several tables that waited forever for their food orders to be taken, & one table just got up & left.
After waiting far too long for our dessert fondue to arrive, we hailed the the'boss' down & said we just couldn't wait any longer - we were exhausted. We asked him to cancel our 3rd course & get our server to bring the bill. Again - this took over 15 minutes just to get her to come to the table with the bill & card machine. We paid $179 for a pot of cheese fondue for 2 & a meat fondue with a tray of sliced beef - less than 100grams, a baked potato & a green salad that had no dressing & 3 glasses of house wine. They didn't take the dessert fondue off our bill because it was part of a'Trio' order. I stupidly left a $20 tip because I was so exhausted that I could not bear to wait for the change on $200.
Also, the tables & chairs are shabby & need replacing. A couple near us had a pendant light fixture fall from the ceiling after he bumped his head on it while sitting down - crashed all over the place. Lucky he wasn't hurt
Spend a $100 more & go to Le Continental across the street. You will have one of the most amazing meals of your life there & you won't have thrown away $200
Avoid Le Petit Chateau & don't be seduced by its location. It is a rip off.

We had a family fondue dinner & really enjoyed the experience. We went at 530 & the restaurant was very quiet. The kids had dinner from the kids menu & we shared the cheese & chocolate fondue. We added on the apples & veg & were happy we did. The service was great. Very friendly & great w kids.
We ordered the chocolate fondue & two drinks. While the chocolate itself was fine, the accompanying fruits were a major letdown. The strawberries had clearly been cut long before serving & were dry & starting to spoil, while the blueberries were shriveled & some even had mold. Only the banana was fresh & edible. It's disappointing, especially considering how simple it is to serve fresh fruit.
In addition, once our order was brought out, the staff seemed to completely forget about us. We couldn't get anyone's attention to order anything else or even to request the check. In the end, my husband had to go all the way to the front desk to find the person who had seated us just to ask for the bill. Overall, not the best experience.
We initially visited this restaurant in 2022 & provided a glowing review.
Recently, we returned to Quebec City over the weekend & decided to revisit.
However, the experience was significantly disappointing. It is unclear whether the restaurant has changed ownership, but the quality has deteriorated significantly.
The cheese fondue resembled solidified fondue cheese found in supermarkets. The bread appeared to be approximately two days old, neither too hard nor too soft, with a lingering aftertaste. The overpriced apples we ordered were soggy & soft.
Moving on to the main course, the fondue pot & heating apparatus were outdated, preventing the fondue stock from boiling & consequently hindering the cooking of the meat. The fondue was served with a warm, not hot, baked potato containing a single, packaged square of butter, a microscopic green salad, & a small amount of dipping sauce.
For the final course, we were served a chocolate fondue with fruit. The serving consisted of four grapes, three strawberries, some bananas, maraschino cherries, & mini marshmallows. The chocolate fondue had a burnt flavour, which persisted despite the waiters bringing out a fresh bowl.
The only positive aspect of the evening was the attentiveness of the wait staff. The young men serving us were courteous & professional.
In summary, while there are excellent restaurants in Quebec City, this establishment falls short. On a Saturday evening, the restaurant was empty. The decor appeared to have remained untouched for over three decades, accompanied by a musty odour. The utensils & fondue pots were outdated, lacking any attention to detail. The meal was excessively expensive for the quality of the food. The presentation & the quality of the dishes were abysmal. The cheese & chocolate fondues were particularly disappointing. The soft drinks, served in cans, were priced at $5 each. Very limited selection on the children's menu so we ordered from the full price adult menu for the kids.
I was deeply disappointed, especially since I had recommended this restaurant to eight of my friends who were with us.
Our previous experience was far more positive. I doubt we will be returning for a third time.

Lots of mixed reviews for this restaurant. We had a wonderful time. We were two families with kids. The service was excellent & the food was on point!! My favorite was the cheese fondue.
For dessert we experienced their maple fondue which for me was a first. Excellent!!
Everyone had fun & our meal was very reasonably priced.
Friendly staff, good service, great food!! Looking forward to coming back in the future.
Nous avons été déçu… nous avons été mangé à ce resto il y a environ 3 ans & nous avions adoré. Je sais pas si ça changé de propriétaire mais c'est certain qu'on y retournera plus… Je dois dire par contre que le service était super 👍
Je m'explique, nous avons pris le trio fondu pour une famille de 4 (deux enfants, deux adultes) la fondue au fromage était très bonne mais le pain semblais vieux & les pommes étaient pas très appétissantes, comme trempé dans un liquide alors très molles… (en passant 8$ extra pour des pommes molles sur une salade passé date) ensuite pour la fondue avec boeuf, c'était ordinaire.. servi avec une patate au four sans rien, juste un contenant de beurre… pour aller avec… & 4 minis trempettes & une mini salade (4 bouchées)
Finalement, la fondue au chocolat n'était pas mangeable, on l'a retourné, pour recevoir encore la même chose, un goût de brûlé ( on était plusieurs couples) on a tous dit le même commentaire & ils ont rien fait… à part changer un, on a dit laissez faire on va juste pas le manger, pas aucune compensation/remboursement sur la facture… aussi les fruits, c'était ridicule, 4 raisins, 3 morceaux de fraises (pas des fraises entières là juste 3 morceaux, 4 cerises marasquins, plusieurs bananes & des minis guimauves, on est même partie à rire quand on a vue l'assiette… etk. Vous venez de perdre plusieurs clients, on a tous dit, ou jamais en sortant du restaurant. Dommage on a pas pris de photos… en passant, même prix pour les enfants que les adultes pour le trio fondue.. (9ans & 12 ans)

Je voulais m'excuse au prêt du propriétaire j'ai été mangé au château & j'avais eu une journée de marde & la maladie aidais pas la fondu étais très bonne & la fondu au chocolat étais très bonne on compte même revenir !! En passent l'endroit avec le château Frontenac cetais parfais mes la vie est pas toujours facile si vous été pas trop fâché apret moi je passerai mange dès que je suis assez en forme pour remonter à Québec
