I went out with my husband for a special birthday dinner today, but it was a disaster. The food was extremely salty, & the seafood wasn't fresh at all. The atmosphere was more like a noisy club, its feeling was not restaurant.which made it really unpleasant. My birthday dinner in Quebec was completely ruined, & now I feel no good.On top of that, the prices were outrageous for such very very poor quality.
Gabriel was professional kind, humerous & appropriately entertaining.
Great experience.
Highly recommend the business & request Gabriel for service excellence.
Gabe was one of the best servers I have ever encountered. From start to finish he keeps a smile on your face. Great recommendations & just a genuinely great human. Amazing job to Ophelia on the food & atmosphere as well!

We loves everything about this restaurant! The atmosphere was wonderful. The vibe was like it was the place to be in town. Service was quick & knowledgeable. We had a table that overlooked the raw bar area & the food prep kitchen. The only drawback was that we were celebrating a birthday & we told them when we made the reservation. When we arrived, my wife walked ahead with the server to the table, & I paused with the greeter to be sure they knew it was her birthday, which he showed me on the reservation screen. Dinner came & ended with no acknowledgment of the birthday. But all that being said, it was still a wonderful experience.
Restaurant Ophelia in Quebec City offered a lively dining experience with an impressive start; the fresh oysters & generous seafood platter were excellent, showcasing top-quality ingredients & clean, briny flavors. Unfortunately, the main course of salmon, though well-cooked, was overwhelmed by an overly heavy red pepper sauce that masked its natural delicacy. Dessert redeemed the evening with a delightful cigare au chocolat, rich & well executed. While the food had its highlights, the ambiance leaned toward the bustling side, with a crowded & noisy atmosphere that detracted from the average-above average setting.
Booked this restaurant in advance of our trip for a Tuesday night birthday dinner. The restaurant was about half full, but they seemed to not have enough staff on for service. We had to wait so long for anyone to take a drink or food order. We almost left.
For appetizers we ordered the Octopus Carpaccio (the mushroom & onions in the centre are off balance for the rest of the dish, but the octopus is good), Caviar & Scallops (this is delicious) & the Halibut Ceviche (also very good).
We then had the Low Tide with extra Shrimp & Oysters. The oysters are great, but the rest was either ok or bad.
All our shrimp were very overcooked & almost dry. Needed to add lots of cocktail sauce to these. The Octopus salad has capers that just take over the entire dish & the Tuna tataki had this thick balsamic sauce that was so overpowering it was gross.
Definitely recommend the appetizers, but nothing else was good here.
I asked for Medium rare but got rare steak. Besides that, everything was fantastic! Service, oysters, everything!! The waitress asked me if I wanted my steak back on the grill, but I declined. Wasn't a big deal.
Would definitely go back
