We stopped by Snack Bar Saint-Jean for a quick bite since it was teatime. We ordered a Double Cheeseburger Bacon, Gyros Poutine & a soda drink. Both the burger & poutine tasted delicious, savoury & flavourful! They were generous with the meats & cheese curds in the poutine. We really enjoyed dining here! Staff were friendly & welcoming too.
My wife picked this locally loved spot to try Quebec poutine while we were Quebec City. We ordered the Poutine Dulton Saucisses & the Galvaude - both were tasty, & the gravy really stood out. Rich, flavorful, & exactly what you'd hope for in a classic poutine.
A quick heads-up: unless you have a serious appetite, go with the smallest portion size. It's very generous & more than enough for one person.

Our first meal in Quebec & it was wonderful to catch a quick bite of poutine (with chicken), a cheeseburger, & a corn dog. Great for kids. :) Friendly service & clean.
Great spot! Close to everything. A variety of poutines that come in generous portions. My family loved that we could get an affordable meal & eat quick without waiting online at an overpriced tourist trap. We visited several times during the week.
Loved this place! We arrived in Quebec City late our first night, & were very glad that they were open late! Good poutines, good drink selection, & quick service. Generally just a great place! We also went back a couple times, including on NYE, & they handled busy crowds very well! Again, if you're staying in the historic City, make a trip outside the gates to Rue St-Jean. You'll be glad you did!
Snack Bar St. Jean is a nice little fast food joint next to Quebec's Centre des Congrés. They offer many vegetarian options, which is a pleasant surprise. Definitely try the poutine; it's delicious. The service was okay, nothing exceptional but satisfactory. It's a convenient spot for a quick bite, especially if you're attending an event nearby. The casual atmosphere & decent food make it worth a visit.
