Steak Avenue in Vieux-Québec is a fantastic spot for steak lovers! The meat is perfectly cooked, juicy, & full of flavor, with sides that complement the dishes beautifully. The menu offers a great variety, & everything is prepared with care & quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm & stylish, perfect for a special evening or a nice dinner out. The service is friendly, professional, & attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a great steak in the heart of Old Quebec!

This certainly didn't fulfill my expectations of a restaurant that scores 4.9 on Google Reviews.

My wife & I were at the restaurant on a summer evening in mid-August. We ordered starters, a main meal (I had the Wagyu Flank Steak, my wife the Grilled Scallops), & each had a glass of wine.

First the good - The quality of the Wagyu Flank steak was excellent, & one of the best steaks I've had this year.

Unfortunately the steak was ruined by the rest of the experience. My wife's Grilled Scallops & past were average & only came with 2 scallops despite the promise of at least 3. I'd like to comment on the quality of the starters that we ordered, but they never came. The entrees were served & when we enquired about the starters we had ordered they offered to keep the entrees'warm' whilst they prepared the starters. How can you do that with steak? & then to add to our dismay of not being given our starters I had to ask for a steak knife to be given to me for my steak. What type of steak house serves a steak without a steak knife?

& finally, the list of wines that are available for people that only want a single glass is very poor. On the original menu it had only one option, but it was only because we had looked at a separate wine list in the reception that we realized there were a couple of additional options for reds (& I mean only a couple). None very inspiring. Tip to the restaurant: look up Coravin on the internet.

So how did the restaurant respond to missing our starters? You might think that they would'comp' a dessert or glass of wine. Answer: absolutely nothing!

Net, net: Given expectations this was a disappointment. The steak was good, but the overall experience was not, & we left very disappointed.

The T-bone steak was incredible, & our server, Sophie, was exceptionally friendly-she helped us choose the perfect wine to pair with it.

I had dinner at Steak Avenue during my time in Old Québec & overall had a good experience. The caesar salad was light & refreshing, & the filet mignon was very tender & cooked a nice medium rare. The only thing that I didn't find amazing was the long wait time; it took quite a while to receive both starter & main courses. In general, a great experience here.

J'ai eu le dîner ici pendant mon voyage à Vieux-Québec & c'était une bonne expérience. La salade était légère & fraîche, & le filet mignon était tendre & parfaitement cuit. Le seul point négatif était le long temps d'attente. Mais, en général, une expérience formidable.
