Classic legacy hotel bar experience. We went for a night cap & so, so glad we did. The bartenders are excellent at what they do. We enjoyed gin martinis & some of their creative cocktails. My partner says the oysters are delicious.

Magnifique bar avec des cocktails excellents. Les employés au bar offrent un bon service. Toutefois, il n'y a pas de réservation possible & les clients ayant un séjour à l'hôtel ne sont pas priorisés pour se voir une table être attitrée. Il serait pertinent que les clients ayants réservé une chambre à l'hôtel ait la priorité.

What a fantastic bar!! We didn't order food but they have a menu with small bites. Our bartender Jeremy was top notch!! He made the drinks with care. We are guests at the hotel & the vibe was great!!

Beautiful bar in a beautiful hotel. Sadly I was a bit disappointed with service & food portions. Our waiter, although pleasant, was not overly friendly. He seemed a be snobbish, & I had the slight impression we were inconvenienceing him. When I asked for something that wasn't on the menu he shut me down with an abrupt No. Kinda rude, especially when your paying over $20 a drink. As for the Charcuterie board ~ it was tasty but portion of cheese was pathetic...not worth $47 +tax.
Otherwise, it's a very warm & inviting atmosphere in the bar itself, & fun to watch the mixologists at work.

Bar 1608 is definitely my favorite bar to go to when going to Quebec city. Located in one of the most photographed hotels in the world, Chateau Frontenac, this bar feels like luxury, the drinks menu with pictures is well done. The staff is professional & always making sure you are having a good time!

We enjoyed a light lunch, so hamburgers & snacks, & sparkling wine.

The atmosphere was outstanding because it was a bar in the prestigious luxury hotel "Chateau Frontenac", & the quality of the foods & the service of the staff were also excellent!!

After a stressful train ride from Montreal, 1608 Bar filled my cup… literally! The drink menu is gorgeous! There's beautiful hand-painted photos of the drinks as well as a write up of the history, ingredients ands anything else. There's a cocktail specifically made for Anthony Bourdain. The Old Fashioned was out of this world-definitely in my top 5 ever! My server Henri was lovely & recommended some things for me to do while in QC! He was incredibly busy so it was nice to chat for a hot sec. The bar itself is masculine with dark wood, books & a fireplace. The views of the St. Lawrence are awesome (if you're seated near a window). The tables are tightly packed together so you so absolutely overhear (& possible even meet!) your table neighbors! The bathrooms are in the hotel (go to the 1st Christmas tree & turn left!) but there's several stalls. There's also several staff members if you get lost on your way back! Everyone speaks perfect English as well!

Glad we popped into the hotel bar at Le Chateau. Only had one drink, but it was a great time. Cool vibe, very chic. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to open, but worth the wait. Great service & fairly priced for a 5* hotel

Dec2024 Part of the impressive list of Fairmount roster of stylish bars all throughout the world, the 1608 also meets this prestigious list. The evolved menu of narratives about the creative cocktails is always unique & personal to each bar & is a homage to the creative mixologists behind them. Obviously, cocktails are highly recommended but also try their local gins & beers which have history & care to back them up. Their food menu is also varied as well & pairs well with the drinks. Do converse with the knowledgeable servers who can guide you to a noteworthy experience on your visit. The bar is very cozy & often crowded. I recommend reservations. Btw, if you are a hotel guest, they have a number of wine, beer & spirits tasting sessions that will give you a glimpse of the level of quality & effort they take in their bar & drink depts. Cheers.

it reminded me why I usually avoid hotel bars. Went there past 10pm, still quite a few people at the bar & around. It was obviously closing time for the bartender who couldn't be bothered actually bartending & preferred work on doing their closing duties in our face. Somehow managed to mess up a Negroni & an Old Fashioned before disappearing leaving us hanging for the check.
