If you're looking for a spot that feels like a direct flight to Italy, this is it. Here's the breakdown of why Bottega is the ultimate choice for a date or a chill night out.
* The Food: We went for the Seafood Pasta with Egg Yolk (incredibly silky) & the Meat & Mushroom Pasta ($35). Both were spot on-rich, authentic, & satisfying. Finished it off with a classic Tiramisu that was pure perfection.
* The Vibe: This place is all about atmosphere. Dim lighting, cozy table lamps, & candles everywhere. It's intimate enough that you can actually enjoy a private moment & kiss without feeling like the whole room is watching.
* The Sound: They've nailed the balance. There's a DJ & live music, but it's at the perfect volume. You get the energy without having to shout over your dinner.
* The Service: Even though the place was packed, the staff was amazing. The waitresses are beautiful, super friendly, &-heads up-they speak great English, which made everything easy despite the French-speaking setting.
* The Bar: Great selection of drinks to keep the night going.
Verdict: Easy to find on the map & 100% worth it. You'll leave full, happy, & definitely in your'comfort zone.' Highly recommended for a perfect date night.
Bottega - Un air d'Italie dans le Petit-Champlain
Pour retrouver l'ambiance authentique de l'Europe en plein Bas-de-la-Ville, c'est l'adresse incontournable. Voici pourquoi ce resto est une pépite :
* Dans l'assiette : On a testé les Pâtes aux fruits de mer & jaune d'oeuf (un régal de texture) & les Pâtes viande & champignons (35$). Les portions sont généreuses & le goût est là. Pour le dessert, le Tiramisu est un passage obligé.
* L'ambiance : C'est le spot idéal pour une « date ». Lumières tamisées, bougies & petits abat-jour sur chaque table. L'atmosphère est feutrée, parfaite pour se rapprocher & s'embrasser en toute intimité.
* Le son : Le mix entre DJ & musique live est super bien géré. C'est vivant mais pas trop bruyant, ce qui permet de discuter tranquillement sans forcer la voix.
* Le service : Malgré un resto plein à craquer, l'accueil a été au top. Les serveuses sont charmantes, très pro & parlent parfaitement anglais. On a été placés rapidement malgré l'affluence.
* Le bar : Une très belle carte pour accompagner votre repas.
En résumé : Très facile à trouver sur la carte. Vous en ressortirez rassasiés & conquis. Si vous voulez impressionner votre copine & passer une soirée dans une vraie « zone de confort », foncez. Je recommande à 100% !
Had an amazing night with my boyfriend there for our anniversary. The drinks & ambiance are impeccable. We shared the calmar entrée which was amazing. The tagliatelle mushroom pasta was one of the best pasta dish I've ever had. We shared a pizza which was unfortunately slightly disappointing. The taste of the crust was just okay. Overall still had a perfect time at Bottega!
We ordered an appetizer, two pastas, & one pizza. Food was generally ok, but the service was perfect. At first, our pasta came out cold but when we mentioned it to the waiter, he kindly warmed them up right away. Also, he helped us with finding public transportation, & even lent us something we asked for.
I have met so many kind people here in Quebec. It is truly a wonderful place to visit!

Quebec welcomed us with the greatest weather ever with blue clear sky, bright sunshine, cooled down by dry & breezy wind. The shop arranged a table for 6 of us indoor, but it'd be such a waste to stay inside in this weather so we asked to move & were happily accommodated.
We ordered so much, from panini, salad, to all types of pasta & then a pizza.
I really thought panini is supposed to be flattened & toasted so was surprised to see its form here. It sandwiched a thick piece of crumbed fried cheese, with some red orange spread that I could not tell how it was made. Personally I think it was hard to eat because it was dry & with little flavor profile but my husband who ordered liked it, so that was what mattered.
Both pasta for the meatball bolognese & lasagna was cooked nicely. I just think maybe it's the marinara sauce that was a bit too salty. Gnocchi on the other hand was soft, pillowy, drown in creamy pesto sauce that was so flavorful. Personally I think this was the best item.
The salad was fun, full of colors & flavors. The pizza dough was a bit doughy & cake-kier than how napoli pizza usually is. The mushroom on top was masterpiece though. Tip is to dip the pizza crust into the unfinished pesto sauce of the gnocchi & it's perfect.

Fantastic! The sauce took me right back to my childhood-it tastes just like my mom's, rich & full of flavor. The pasta was cooked to perfection, & the cannolis? Spectacular! To top it all off, the chef personally came out to greet our table, which made the experience even more special. You can truly feel the passion in every dish. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town.
