Le Café du Monde has an excellent reputation for several reasons! Our early supper at the Café was to celebrate an anniversary. The staff were courteous & friendly, as well as very knowledgeable. We started with gin tastings - 3 Québec gins, which were incredibly refreshing. Our entrées, pieuvre & tapenade aux olives & saumon tartare were exceptional!! So succulent & delicious. The mains were very good, but the appetizers were the star of the show! The rosé suggested with the main course was on point. Marie L. our server was professional & swift. Our water was refilled without even our noticing (it was a very hot day). The view of the fleuve was beautiful. Would highly recommend this as a stop while meandering the Old Port in Québec!

Excellent repas & excellent service!

Petit commentaire: au début du repas, nous avons été dérangées par la forte musique qui provenait, semble-t-il , du Festibière. Heureusement, la musique a cessé par la suite, parce que c'était vraiment trop fort & nous avions de la difficulté à nous parler.

Nourriture excellente & en bonne quantité. La serveuse très souriante & à l'écoute. J'ai beaucoup aimé le cadre également, c'est une belle place qui entre maintenant dans ma liste de restaurants habituels

Nous avions une réservation.

À l'accueil nous avons été reçus par la gérante.

Nous avons demandé s'il était possible d'être sur la terrasse (noté sur la réservation) ou près d'une fenêtre avec vue sur le fleuve.

Réponse: aucune place disponible.

Une fois installés à une table à l'intérieur du resto & malgré qu'une table sur la terrasse se soit libérée, la gérante n'a fait aucun effort pour nous y installer, prétextant des règlements de son crû.

Un manque d'initiative flagrant.

Son service à la clientèle est diamétralement à l'opposé de la qualité de celui du serveur, & des plats choisis & recommandés par ledit serveur.
