Review Summary

Cassis Monna & Filles is widely regarded as a must-visit destination on Île d'Orléans, celebrated primarily for its stunning riverside views, relaxing atmosphere, and signature blackcurrant-based products. Many visitors highly praise the unique blackcurrant and vanilla soft-serve ice cream, as well as the variety of wines, liqueurs, and gourmet items available in the boutique. While the experience is often described as heavenly and a highlight of the region, reviews regarding the restaurant are mixed; some guests thoroughly enjoy the duck poutine and local cuisine, while others suggest the food quality and service consistency could be improved. Despite some concerns regarding wait times or menu variety, the vast outdoor seating area and the opportunity for guided tastings make it a favored spot for travelers to unwind and enjoy the scenery.

So glad we stopped here!! We enjoyed the tasting & the bit of history too. They have little samples inside the store & the dressing was amazing!! I had to get one!
From the $7 tasting, number 1 was my fave. It resembled Porto wine a bit!
The chairs scattered around, the music & the vibe make this a nice place to visit. Didn't check the resto upstairs cuz we had just eaten! Forgot to take pics!!!

Heads up if you have dietary restrictions: the menu labels dishes'plant based,' but the plant based cauliflower bites come with real mayonnaise. Either they don't know what plant based means, or they do & didn't think it mattered. Neither is reassuring. They're also heavy on single-use plastic - sample cups, disposable trays for tastings. That said, the wine is genuinely excellent. Just go in knowing the labels can't be trusted.

The ice cream is amazing. It's a bit tart but pairs so well with the vanilla side.
We tried a few samples of wine. Most of their stuff is sweet. I bought a bottle of sangria & I can't wait to crack it open!

No Menu Prices for their own wine (bottles). A Trap, Not a Restaurant.

A legitimate restaurant lists its wine prices. This one doesn't - & after our bill arrived, it was obvious why.

Two bottles we ordered are sold on their own shop shelves for $58.50 combined. We were charged $113.50. No corkage fee, no service surcharge, no explanation - just silent doubling of the price for anyone who doesn't think to ask. We didn't ask, because we assumed, reasonably, that a restaurant would publish what it charges.

Here's what makes it worse: their own by-the-glass prices tell a different story. The first wine was $8 a glass - implying roughly $40 a bottle. They charged $65. The second was $6.50 a glass - implying around $32.50 a bottle. They charged $48. They can't even keep their own pricing consistent, because there is no pricing - just whatever they decide to charge once you've already drunk the wine.

When we raised the discrepancy, the staff was rude. We asked the supervisor for an explanation. She asked us to leave.

Not an apology. Not a justification. Just: leave.

We paid & we left - but not before making note of exactly what happened. If you're heading to wine country, ask for a wine list with prices before you order anything. Or find a place that respects its customers enough to be transparent.

This one will escort you out the door for asking a reasonable question.

Amazing experience, very friendly staff, delicious wines & drinks, food portions were fantastic. Menu could use a little expanding but nothing to lose stars over as there is definitely something for everyone.

I had a very disappointing experience at this wine shop in Quebec City. During my visit, I felt that I was treated differently from other customers because of my race/ethnic background. Staff members spoke to me in a dismissive manner & provided a level of service that was noticeably different from what I observed being given to other customers.
As a customer, I expect to be treated with the same respect & professionalism as everyone else. This experience made me feel unwelcome & uncomfortable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously & reviews its customer service practices to ensure all customers are treated fairly & respectfully.

I stopped there to buy wine for my husband . , I observed staff offering wine samples to several other customers while my group was consistently overlooked. We were never offered a sample, despite being present & interested in the products.

Worst place ever , no one except people who speak French or are white should go to this place.

After trying the soft serve black currant Ice cream, I needed more. So we went to the small market area where they had the friendliest staff & the best wine tasting set up I've seen. Perfect experience to end the day.
