Delicious lunch of bbq pork tacos & salad, with black currant ice cream for dessert. Black currants are prevalent throughout the menu & accompanying shop. The service was exemplary & the setting is a beautiful view of the island to river scenery. I would choose to return here again & again if we lived in Quebec.
Incredible soft serve. The vanilla & black currant really make one another's flavour shine. The shop also has super interesting products, whether you're looking for some alcoholic beverage or simply new ingredients to cook at home with like blackcurrant vinegar or salt. Definitely worth to stop by!
After trying the soft serve black currant Ice cream, I needed more. So we went to the small market area where they had the friendliest staff & the best wine tasting set up I've seen. Perfect experience to end the day.
We had an awesome tine at Cassis Monna & Filles. We were greeted the moment we walked in & jumped right into tastings 4-5 different black currant wines. I never got the modelesque lady with the cat ear eyeglasses name but she was sweet, personable, & knowledgeable. The also have a vodka & gin (eeeyuck). However, I tasted the vodka but it wasnt as smooth as I like it, but that didnt stop us from buying the sangria & port. Oh my! The view is amazing.
Great stop to try amazing unique black currant wines & more! Definitely try the soft serve ice-cream. If you can pick up a bottle of wine too. Very unique & sweet flavour. Vodka is great, but the Gin is so-so.
It is not a legal requirement that you visit Cassis Monna & Filles while on Il d'Orleans, but it should be! Ice cream, wine, jam & a beautiful view. There are so many chairs available so you can easily spend a hour here on a nice day. If you love black currant, this is your place. If you are not sure about black currant, than this is the place to try it out!
Beautiful place. The outdoor lawn area is a lovely place to relax, chat, read, etc. Very family & dog friendly too. The restaurant & ice cream shop is upstairs & shop of their black currant products is downstairs. The restaurant was nice & reading the menu teaches you all the ways you can use black currant in a meal. One reviewer said the duck leg was fantastic & another said their duck leg was dry so I was conflicted about ordering it or not- glad I did because it was not dry at all & paired really nicely with the black currant jam. The black currant & vanilla soft serve was very refreshing, the vanilla really balanced out the tartness of the black currant. Loved eating & relaxing here, would definitely return.
