About

Chungchun Kogo Coréen specializes in the authentic preparation of Korean-style corn dogs, a popular street food icon defined by its unique contrast of textures. Each skewer features a premium hot dog or block of mozzarella cheese dipped in a signature fermented rice flour batter, resulting in an exceptionally crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior. Patrons customize their orders with an array of distinct coatings, ranging from crunchy panko breadcrumbs and crispy ramen shards to crispy potato cubes. The menu prioritizes portability and bold flavors, enhanced by a diverse selection of house-made sauces including spicy gochujang, honey mustard, and savory garlic glazes. This establishment focuses on delivering consistent quality by utilizing specialized frying techniques that ensure a light, golden crust while maintaining the integrity of the fillings hidden beneath the surface.

Pretty Solid Korean Corndogs

Wanted a late-night snack but nothing as heavy as Quebec City poutine, so I looked through the Asian/Korean options & this spot seemed like the best bet. Ended up driving a decent distance for it, & it was worth it.

Got the Jumbo Dog & the Ramen Chip Dog, & both had surprisingly good batter. I've tried a lot of corndogs in Korea & the U.S., & honestly, most U.S. spots still can't get the batter to behave like this. Fluffy, not too dense, & just sweet enough to bring out the umami in the filling. My favorite was actually the plain jumbo dog with a little sauce on top.

If you're craving something late at night that's filling but not a brick of poutine, this is a solid pick.

Just visited this place, & I have to say, it's such a great spot for simple yet delicious Korean fast food! The food itself is an easy 10/10, but what truly stood out was the exceptional customer service-an easy 1000/10! A special shoutout to Mighty, who was incredibly kind & attentive. Despite the language barrier, he took the time to carefully explain the menu & how the ramen works, making sure we had the best experience. To top it all off, he even surprised us with a free cinnamon donut (because it's almost closing, & I hope the owner is ok with it 😊❤?). Overall, it was an amazing experience, & we'll definitely be back!

As an Asian & a Korean cuisine enthusiast, I must say my experience at ChungChun left me feeling a bit perplexed. Honestly, the food didn't strike me as authentically Korean; instead, it leaned more towards a Western influence. Despite the Korean music playing in the background, it seemed more like a personal preference than a true representation. Back when I was in China, I often indulged in authentic Korean BBQ, bibimbap, cold noodles, fried chicken, kimchi, & even hot pot with a Korean twist. To me, these dishes represent the true essence of Korean cuisine. However, the two dishes I tried at ChungChun, the potato + sausage & the cheese, left me quite disappointed.
