About

Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Fancy an evening with a British flavor?
A lively atmosphere, British playlist, and London-style happy hour await you!

Step inside Le Dorsay and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, laughter, and stories of a pub where every corner tells a piece of history.

Cheers!

If you like blue cheese take the mussels. It is my fav dish worth to visit this beautiful city driving from Gatineau ! Downstairs has amazing atmosphere. We visited to eat here 3 times this weekend ! I don't want to try other dishes cause old mustard mussels disappointed me with overwhelming ocean smell. My bf loves their special burger here. We both love this restaurant so much that we create little trips to Quebec City ❤️ Edit: We visited Quebec City again 4 time in last 2 years; again hoping to eat here 3 other times. In our first day we found out that the menu had changed. We still had burger & blue cheese mussels looks similar quality food but unfortunately taste is not the same at all. It is a different blue cheese for mussels, still good but not the one like made me feel addictedly love it. Burger was more disappointing. Hoping one day old menu for those items will be back & we can visit this beautiful place again.

This is a lovely small restaurant & bar in Quebec. When my friend tasted the seafood soup she could barely express how good it was. The mussels Provençal were terrific a generous serving as well as tasty. Less soupy than we've had in Philadelphia but excellent sauce. My fish & chips were crispy & cooked perfectly & the small salad with it was full of a variety of greens. The stout was labeled delicious & my husband had a yummy Canadian Sauvignon Blanc. Nancy, our server was kind & attentive & kept watch over us & our needs.

The French Onion Soup, Seafood Chowder Soup, Mussels with White Wine Sauce, Four Cheese Mac & Cheese, & Spaghetti Bolognese (kids meal) we had were amazing, & the portions were pretty big. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Highly recommended!

This restaurant, renowned for its seafood, left us with mixed feelings. The mussels weren't well-cleaned, with sand present, & the sauce on them seemed insufficient & undercooked, missing the essence of white wine. On a brighter note, the seafood chowder & fries were amazing, a definite must-try. The paella was ok, though we've had better in Europe. The standout was the exceptional service-extremely friendly & welcoming. Overall, a good experience, but we'd consider returning specifically for the outstanding seafood chowder.

D'orsay is located in the old city section of Quebec City. It is very near to Notre Dame Quebec. In any case, they have great cocktails & an extensive food menu. We had both theussels & the paella. The white wine mussels were very good, the paella was somewhat dry & undercooked. They were very busy in their defense. The Caesar salad was very good as well. I would recommend giving this place a try, even if for nothing more than drinks. Follow for more...

We came here twice for dinner over a 4 day holiday. There are many restaurants nearby but we really liked this place. We love the ambiance in the room with the main bar. Very cozy booths but we would've been just as happy with seats at the bar. Had the mussels with bleu cheese sauce. Our server recommended the bleu cheese & said it's not overwhelming as it sounds. I took her suggestion & it did not disappoint. Mussels were not the largest but they do make up for that in quantity. My husband had the pappardelle & that was just ok, very hearty. Prices are excellent. For our previous dinner, we had the fish & chips & the bavette. Both very good. Our server was fantastic (brunette with long hair). Highly suggest reservations as they had a line out the door & we were there during a slow time of year (November 8-11).
