About

Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Fancy an evening with a British flavor?
A lively atmosphere, British playlist, and London-style happy hour await you!

Step inside Le Dorsay and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, laughter, and stories of a pub where every corner tells a piece of history.

Cheers!

This is probably the cleanest pub I have ever been in. I had a tall Guinness & a delicious homemade sausage in my Bangers & Mash. My wife's bowl of mussels was huge. Everyone thought my son's Onion Soup was one of the best they have tasted. The music wasn't too loud, so we could easily have a conversation. This was a perfect place to come out of the cold in the early afternoon.

We came here several times on our trip to Old Quebec. Loved the British ambiance & the staff were wonderful. The onion soup was delicious as was the chicken pot pie. One snowy day we sat at the bar & sipped on wine while interacting with other tourists & watching re-runs of classic James Bond movies. Just a delightful friendly & cosy experience!

Our second time here! We had such a wonderful time we came back! We sat at the bar! Unsurprisingly, the beer selection is excellent! They make a fab & very well appointed Bloody Mary! We also had lunch! I had one of the best onion soups of my life! My wife had a super yummy beet salad! Our bartender was so nice! We always have fun meeting people here!

We went in for dinner last night & sat at the bar. This place was busy, it is beautiful loved the pub vibe. Ordered wine & Onion Soup & an Entree all at the same time. The Onion Soup came out hot & was delicious! This where the service went downhill. The bartender was so pre occupied with talking to another customer at the bar, we were ignored. We finally had to ask about our entree & the response was I put that order in a long time ago, yes so maybe you should check on it. A few minutes later our food came out the bartender went to get it & it was not hot at all Luke warm at best. After that we were ignored, couldn't get her attention to let her know that the food was not hot. One meal was a Schnitzel & when that gets cool it's just doesn't taste good. Also, needed refills of our wine, but we just left instead. Disappointed as the atmosphere is awesome. & I am sure the food was good if it was warm as the presentation was great!

We loved our dinner at D'Orsay! Cozy atmosphere, amazing food, drinks, beers, & great service. Our server Nancy was super friendly & attentive. The onion soup, schnitzel, & raviolis were delicious, & the Reine Elisabeth dessert was the perfect finish. Highly recommend when visiting Quebec City!

We skipped the onion soup & ordered the chowder 🤩 no regrets! Quebec is known for its dairy so I went with the grill cheese sandwich. It was good maybe just a tad dry. Great meal overall on a cold rainy day.

The food was fantastic. French onion soup was delicious & the chicken thigh out of this world for a reasonable price considering the great location.

Service was great came for my brothers birthday we had a few dogs & Nancy was great & brought water right away.

As visitors who speak limited French they accommodated us in English! The food was great the French onion soup is to die for, as well as the chicken liver you must try with all the components!
If you love muscles you are in for a treat there is a very healthy portion I'd say even to share!

All in all Nancy was great & the experince at Dorsay was fantastic! Thank you to the whole team compliments to the chefs! & big shout out to Nancy & the team!

The Delmonico steak with vegetables was delicious, & the onion soup was good also. The lunch menu is different from their evening menu, as in no steak/frites fir dinner. Wasn't my favorite place to eat, but still very good.

Ended up going here 2x during our stay in QC. Both times we got seated right away.

Nice atmosphere inside. They play great music at the right level so you can still have a conversation at your table.

They do their food right & with care. French onion soup is amazing.

Service was excellent both times.

Would recommend for sure.
