Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Let's start with the positive. Great location, good vibes on a Friday evening, welcoming atmosphere , able to watch a hockey game either at the bar or upstairs area.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was not great. New menu as of the previous day. I ordered a fried chicken - Indian style ( butter sauce with garam masala & mango salsa. Outside looked perfect - the INSIDE WAS 100% raw.
The hamburgers also ordered at our table - were decent tasting, but very small patty & the whole thing was so messy to eat; too much sauce. My fries were the end of the batch - many were overcooked & crunchy.
Although the young server was very sweet, considering there was one waiter in her section, the service was less than good. Don't expect any compensation for a meal that could have made us very sick... the inexperienced manager obviously has not been trained very well in this type of situation. I definitely would not return or recommend restaurant D'Orsay especially considering all the great possibilities in that area.

Nous sommes allés dîner en famille avec notre fils autiste. Nous avons demandé une table à l'écart, pour que ce soit un peu moins bruyant & le serveur nous a super bien accommodés. Il nous a placés à l'étage, dans une salle vide & a même arrêté les enceintes pour nous accommoder. On n'en demandait pas autant, il a été vraiment compréhensif & bienveillant.
Le repas était bon, les moules frites copieuses, le burger bon, les desserts ultra décadents (le gâteau Reine Elizabeth quand même très sucré!)
Bref, un bon resto avec un service sur la coche!

Endroit bien situé,5 à 7 bien branché avec un service des plus amical .Rumyana a rendu notre visite des plus agreable.Tres souriante & attentionnée elle ensoleilla notre fin d'après midi sur toute la ligne.Excellent service.

Mon verre était beau & délicieux

We had reserved a table for 3 & were greeted & seated within minutes. Language being a barrier the Staff was sooooooo accommodating & more then helpful steering us in the right direction for not just our meals but also our drinks. We ordered 6 things off the menu & we loved each one. Special shout out to Rumyana, thank you from the New Brunswickers;)
