Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Very sad to see that they changed the Seafood Chowder, but everything was good & the staff is always great!

The picture is of the old seafood chowder with smoked salmon.

We enjoyed our experience here, we came during happy hour did not know it was available it was a surprise to us & it was great. They offer happy hour beers wine & a few high balls, along with a few food platter options as well. Service was on point, children are welcome as well. We ordered the mussels & fries & we would order them again, huge portion, perfect for sharing!

Had a wonderful time at the restaurant! I had a reservation but we arrived ~30 minutes early & they let us in, sat us down, & served us immediately afterwards. The service was impressive (we ordered the ceasar salade & the staff was nice enough to give a new set of utensils which in my experience is pretty rare to see!) Our waitress checked on us regularly & was super nice! The only -ick- was the nachos; cooked in the sauce so corn chips were soggy & hard to have as finger food (personal opinion). Overall amazing experience as a first time try! Definitely will recommend to friends!

Went there for a late lunch on a cold Quebec City day. French Onion Soup was good, cheesy & tasty. Prices are fair. They have an happy hour special (4-6pm) with 6$ beers. I would recommend this place.

Excellent service, we had to wait a few minutes for a table but not too long. The burger I ordered was excellent & the Griffon Rousse beer Excellent. Highly recommended.

Nous aimons aller souper au restaurant le 24 décembre de chaque année, mais la plupart des restaurants sont fermés sauf D'Orsay dans le Vieux Québec. La nourriture est excellente, le service est parfait & on peut profiter de la beauté du coin en prenant une marche sur la rue du Petit Champlain. N'oubliez pas de réserver, ils sont très en demande.
