Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

This place was great! First night in Quebec City we ate here & came 3 more times specifically for their onion soup!!! Sooooooo good! We also had their coconut curry chicken, poutine, & the maple pie; all very yummy! We were a party of 2 & each time we came we didn't have to wait long (10 min max), & we sat in the bar area. Even on Christmas Eve they sat us quickly. I did notice for larger parties it did seem like reservations were best.

Great location & ambiance! The steak was chewy despite being medium rare, & the fish & chips were a bit oily. Fries lacked crispiness & didn't taste fresh. Overall, an okay experience.

It was close to closing, so this review is based on those circumstances. Staff dragged garbage bags past us while we were still eating. Eww. It was obvious the staff person who took our order was not happy to see us.

Super friendly restaurant! We were in a rush, so we got reserved & finished in like 45 min. Great seafood! Unfortunately, they don't have seafood paella anymore, but the chowder & linguine are fantastic :) Although we didn't have any drink, there seems to be plenty selection at the bar. Great vibe as well!

We liked it so much, we went two nights in a row. The Mac & Cheese was delicious . NANCY T provided excellent & friendly customer service with a smile in both French & English languages. Warm & inviting ambiance. Highly recommend!! Kelly B- Toronto.

Enjoyed a great poutine here along with a glass of local wine. The atmosphere is pretty incredible. It has an upscale local pub vibe with great woodworking all around.

Super ambiance & décor, service impeccable & rapide. La seule chose qui manquait était de goût dans la nourriture. Mon copain a aimé son burger végé mais les moules marinières ne goûtaient presque rien (moules trempées dans l'eau avec un peu d'oignons) & les frites étaient sèches. Bonne quantité de moules cependant! Malgré la beauté de l'endroit, je n'y retournerai pas car la nourriture ne valait pas le détour.
