Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Surprisingly, for a Saturday night this restaurant did not have a line out the door like all the others. We sat on the 2nd level. We enjoyed our meals but it took 3 tries before the kitchen could put a vegan dish together that was actually vegan. The server was friendly with a good sense of humour.

Went specifically for the mussels, which are the specialty of D'Orsay. I ordered them in white wine with fries. A big, steaming pot overbrimming with mussels was brought to the table & I thought there was no way I would be able to eat that much. But I did, because the mussels were good & hot & I was in no hurry. The fries, golden & crispy, were the perfect complement. I went away stuffed & entirely satisfied.

Was not pleased...BUT who is the CLOWN that Changed the menu.🤔🫤come on cesar salad Never in my life have I seen a cesar like that half a chunk of romaine lettuce gratin with Very Little vinigrette With the parmesan gratiner on top with 3 Little pieces of Bacon( & we had to cut our lettuce up to make it eatable!) Witb 3 little croutons on the side with a bit of vinigrette.. REALLY TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED 8(( & NO MORE STEAK FRITE DOUBLELY DISAPPOINTED... & music was way too loud Wenr for my birthday in April & everything was perfect...BUT I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE !!8(((

My partner & I had the opportunity to visit Quebec for the 4th of July holiday from NJ. From the moment we walked past the restaurant we thought, "We have to come here." & our instincts did not fail us. From the first step inside, the service was excellent, the food was delicious. Don't forget to try the excellent house beer. But if you have the opportunity to go, look for Nancy. She served us that night & offers 5-star service. She did us the favor of taking some beautiful photos. If we have the opportunity to return to Quebec, we will definitely be very happy to return to D'Orsay. If we receive Nancy's attention, we will be twice as happy.

We picked this spot because of the window booths & weren't disappointed. The food was tasty & our server, Nancy, was very attentive & had great recommendations. If you're looking for a nice view of some historic buildings, a good meal, & a great playlist full of classics, this is the spot! Thanks Nancy & staff at Pub D'Orsay.
