About

Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Fancy an evening with a British flavor?
A lively atmosphere, British playlist, and London-style happy hour await you!

Step inside Le Dorsay and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, laughter, and stories of a pub where every corner tells a piece of history.

Cheers!

Nancy is a great server... if you have her as your server you are going to love her style... & do order what Nancy recommends she has a good taste.

Bon restaurant-pub sympa. Le personnel souriant & courtois. Bon service.

Do NOT order the FISH & CHIPS. I've had this dish in many establishments, & this was the smallest piece I have ever seen. If It was a fine piece of non-battered fish, only then MIGHT the size be acceptable. Service was fine, but when I commented on the size of the fish, the answer was that it was a quality piece of fish. To be fair, it was cod; however, if it indeed was fine fish, then DO NOT batter it! I did not sense that it was fine fish, so I don't buy the reasoning. To pour salt on an already bad experience, the chips, which were half of the plate, were overcooked & dry. We've had fries several time in QC city, & these were by far the worst. The coleslaw was tasty, but soggy. My partner had the burger, which was much better, but small in size, & was paired with the same poor fries. Was such a shame, since there is so much good food in QC city. Thank goodness for the sangria, or I'd be much angrier!

Sehr feines und ansprechend präsentiertes Essen in schöner Umgebung. Leider gab es etwas Verständigungsschwierigkeiten, da unsere Servicemitarbeiterin kaum Englisch konnte.

We visited O'Drscay for dinner & were disappointed with both the food & service. We ordered at 5:53 PM, & the waiter confirmed it was still happy hour. However, one of the three beers we ordered was billed at the regular price. After paying & tipping, we noticed the error & brought it to the waiter's attention. The waiter was dismissive & impatient, repeatedly saying, "I don't know," "What do you want," & "How much do you want." The manager was also not helpful or patient. They eventually gave us back $5, which was still not accurate. But the point is always their attitudes. Overall, the experience was below our expectations, & the restaurant seemed really shorthanded.
