Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

I ordered this seafood fettuccine. Not gonna lie, I was slightly disappointed by the amount of seafood at first. As I was paying $38 before tax & tips (around $50 ish in total), I was expecting more seafood. HOWEVER, this tasted so good! I really like the sauce & there's actually quite a few small clams & baby shrimps in the pasta. I ended up liking it so much & emptying the plate:P

We ordered the fish & chips, & the mac & cheese here. The portions were VERY SMALL! The pieces of fish were approx 3 inches x 2 inches & 1.5 inches x 2 inches. (& not overly thick). The Mac & cheese had small portions, too. About 1.5 ladles full, & no bread or anything on the side (Just a bowl of pasta). The flavour was nice, but definitely not filling. I didn't find the value for what you got worth it at this restaurant. Wait staff were friendly & helpful & the atmosphere was nice, though.

On the patio, very crowded & lucky to get a seat, but hostess was very helpful. Husband had the fish & chips. They were good, but my seafood chowder was wonderful.

Great food. The favorites in our 6 people table was the Onion soup, fish & chips, beef cheeks, flank steak, Mac & cheese, linguini & sea food. We accompanied it with the Quebec wine Les Petits Cailloux

À l'occasion de l'anniversaire de mon épouse nous avons réservé pour le souper. Mets délicieux, prix acceptable, quantité de nourriture idéale, ambiance décontractée MAIS musique vraiment trop forte. Nous avons de la difficulté à se parler. Depuis quelques mois il y a eu changement de propriétaire. Espérons que ça va revenir à un niveau musical plus léger car ce sera notre dernière expérience.

We had an amazing time at D'Orsay on Saturday night! Accidentally came across the restaurant on a rainy day but had an absolutely great experience. The food was nice & the servant, Nancy, was so friendly & welcoming. She was very enthusiastic & you could tell how much love & effort she puts into her work. Offered to take photos for my mom & I & helped us changed table, always wearing a smile... Nancy's service definitely enriched the experience to the next level!
