Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

We were walking in Old Quebec & wanted to stop somewhere to eat & try poutine, D'Orsay was on the way & they had poutine on the menu, so we didn't really think twice lol. Hostess was friendly & nice, the atmosphere in the restaurant is welcoming. Unfortunately it was the time between 3-5 & you could order only from the snacks menu, so there wasn't much choice. We tried poutine & nachos, both dishes were pretty good & made us really full. We also had tea & radler & crème brûlée for dessert. Our server was Nancy, she was really welcoming, attentive & really sweet. We are visiting from Toronto, & I was lowkey worried about not speaking French, but with Nancy there was nothing to worry about 😊 I just really wish there were more food options available to order at any time of the day I guess. & I think it was slightly overpriced, but I guess that's normal for tourist spot. Shoutout to Nancy, she's the best!

Très déçu de notre dernier repas dans ce restaurant. Depuis le changement de propriétaire, les tarifs ont beaucoup augmenté alors que le choix & la taille des plats proposés ont été réduits. Tout comme la possibilité de boire un verre de bière réduit à l'unique possibilité de prendre des pintes. Fort heureusement, le service de notre serveur a été irréprochable, encore merci pour lui ! Nous étions habitués à venir ici lors de nos visites à Québec, mais nous allons changer nos habitudes & essayer autre chose ailleurs la prochaine fois.
