About

Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Fancy an evening with a British flavor?
A lively atmosphere, British playlist, and London-style happy hour await you!

Step inside Le Dorsay and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, laughter, and stories of a pub where every corner tells a piece of history.

Cheers!

Nancy is an excellent server, very kind & knowledgeable. The fried calamari, vinaigrette salad & seafood pasta were absolutely delicious! My husband had a pleasant time! Thank you.

No volvería.

Edit: I removed another star (3 stars to 2 stars) because the owner of this restaurant apparently believes he's Gordon Ramsay & berates reviewers of his restaurant at will. Unprofessional & sad. I sincerely hope you take the time & energy you spend dishing out snark to your critics & apply it to bettering your restaurant. Original: While visiting on vacation, we stopped into D'Orsay while we were in the area sightseeing & shopping. We found it to be...just alright. The atmosphere seemed off in relation to the food that they're serving. The menu suggests slightly more upscale fare (especially in terms of price), but the venue itself was very much more pub-like. The service was pretty decent, but the staff seemed overworked. The food was just so-so. I thought that for the price of the items on the menu, the quality just wasn't quite good enough to justify the cost. The poutine was definitely on the lower end of my list out of all of the places where we tried poutine. This place is located in the busy downtown Quebec shopping area. As such, it seems like it probably lures a lot of people in purely out of convenience & is more of a tourist trap than an upscale dining choice. If you're in the area, don't have a reservation anywhere else, & want quick pub food with a beer, you might try D'Orsay. Other than that, there are better options nearby.

We stopped there for lunch. We shared the wings. I had the the seafood chowder which was delicious & my partner had the French onion soup. We both enjoyed the meal. Thank you Nancy for the top notch service.

It was our first time in Quebec & was a bit surprised with the service at this restaurant. We got the seafood soup & had to try the poutine, considering it was our first time out east. While the poutine was bit salty for our liking, this may have just been a personal opinion. The interaction we had with the female waitress might have been one of the worst services we received in a long time. I'm not certain if the norm out east is to not service water, but what surprised us the most was how the waitress scuffed & shook her head when we placed our order & saying "what, thats it", then seeing her go back to her colleagues, continuing to shake her head.. seems like more of a place to go & have cocktails with friends, than a place to go with a group of people for a nice suppe
