Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Nous avons toujours apprécié nos visites à ce resto, c'était un incontournable à chacune de nos visites à Québec. C'est pour cela que nous avons réservé pour 4 personnes pour mon anniversaire. J'ai été très déçue. Nous avions bien compris lors de la réservation que les tables n'étaient pas garanties, que nous pouvions être placés n'importe où lors de notre arrivée, mais qu'une note serait inscrite concernant mon anniversaire. Nous sommes arrivés 45 minutes plus tôt & avons vérifié si nous pouvions devancer notre réservation. Une banquette bien située au 1er venait de se libérer. Cela nous a été refusé sans que l'explication soit claire, nous aurions compris si elle aurait été prévue pour des clients qui avaient réservé à cette heure précise, mais ce n'est pas ce qu'on nous a dit. On nous proposait une place au 2e, un endroit peu invitant, très bruyant. Nous avons donc marché dans les rues avoisinantes jusqu'à l'heure prévue pour la réservation pour nous retrouver au 2e, toujours aussi peu invitant. Est-ce que toutes les réservations se retrouvent au 2e? Si oui, nous aurions apprécié le savoir. Le plat de mon conjoint & le mien étaient décevants, loin de la qualité habituelle. Par contre, le service à la table était bien. Nous n'avons pas l'intention d'y retourner.

Nous venons de Shawinigan (Mauricie) à chaque fois que nous allons à Québec. On va au d'Orsay. C'est un incontournable. Excellent service & la bouffe est tellement bonne.
