Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

Très belle ambiance, la bouffe était très bonne, la portion des entrées était plus grosse qu'on pensait ;) Le service était excellent. Bref, on a adoré notre souper. Je les recommandent.

Seul point négatif & je ne pense pas que cela puisse s'empêcher ce sont les fumeurs qui ce stationnent à proximité des belles grandes fenêtres ouverte du pub!

Restaurant is pretty ok, it the best, not the worst. We were seated at a table we did not reserve during lunch on Monday, not a big deal, but a bit odd b/c the place was far from full.

The ambience was comfortable & inviting. I'd say this is the kind of place most people would feel relaxed & cared for. The food was expertly prepared. I had escargot, onion soup, & Caesar salad w/ prawns, everything was quite delicious. Wait staff was professional & attentive but not bothersome. I'd like to visit here a couple times a week whenever I'm in the area.

Mon épouse & moi n'en étions pas à notre première visite à ce restaurant, au contraire. À chaque fois, nous nous promettons d'y revenir. L'accueil chaleureux & souriant du personnel jusqu'à notre table se veut la meilleure des bienvenues. Même compliment pour notre charmante serveuse Daphnée, très présente dans l'allée près de nous lors du repas. Après un délicieux apéro, nous débutons avec notre rituelle soupe à l'oignon gratinée, onctueuse & chaude comme on l'aime. Je suis plus steak & mon épouse fruits de mer mais aujourd'hui, nous avons fait exception en prenant chacun un plat de poisson différent. Nous ne l'avons pas regretté. Quelles belles assiettes pleines de couleur qui accompagnait notre poisson à la cuisson exceptionnelle. Bref, nous n'avons jamais été déçus de la qualité & de la quantité d'un plat, quel qu'il soit. Notre serveuse nous a gentiment suggéré un pudding-chômeur pour le dessert. Elle savait que nous aimerions le tout, accompagné de petits fruits frais & de crème du marchand. Je m'en voudrais de ne pas souligner le décor majestueux de la salle à manger qui respecte l'aspect du Vieux -Québec où est situé le restaurant, devant l'Hôtel de Ville. Mille fois merci encore!
