Un gros plus est de ne pas avoir peur d'être malade à cause d'une contamination au gluten. Service impeccable. Atmospère super agréable. Drink excellent! Décor unique. The best Mexican food far & wide. During our short stay in Québec, we came across this great restaurant. My girlfriend suffers from coeliac disease, which is why we are always on the lookout for gluten-free options. All dishes in this restaurant are gluten-free. We managed with difficulty to get a table reservation at a late hour. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by very friendly waiters & shown to our table. There are not many seats, but enough. We found the volume unpleasant. It was also very warm in the restaurant. But the food was a real highlight. We ordered a variety of tacos, quesadillas & curros for dessert. In terms of taste, they were the best we've eaten so far. The tacos were incredibly tasty & the individual ingredients were perfectly balanced. The gravy for the quesadillas was very aromatic & went perfectly with the dish. & the churros are the secret star among the delicious dishes. They didn't taste gluten-free at all, were crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside, & the dulce de leche was the perfect complement. The churros were so good, in fact, that we ordered them to go the next evening. Fortunately, there are non-alcoholic beers & even Mexican cola to drink. A big compliment, also for the friendly service.
Belle place pour manger du mexicain. Par contre, les 3 tacos sont de très petite taille & sont peu garnis de viande. Il manque de fromage comme dans les places typiques mexicaines. Nous avons dû recommander un autre plat malgré que nous avions toutes les deux pris chacun un plat de tacos, car nous avions encore faim. Les quesedillas méritent d'être découvert, ils était très bon. Bon dosage d'alcool dans les drinks.
Great service & delicious food & cocktails! Staff were very friendly when we arrived & were quick to get our drinks ready. After we did not wait long for our food. I had the jackfruit quesadillas, they came with three hot sauces you could try.
Amazing gluten free experience though you wouldn't even know it. Most Mexican food is GF anyway but Julio Taqueria is just GF, good food. My wife got the lunch special which included a taco dish (3 tacos), a side of guac with some chips & a fresca drink. She got carnitas tacos which were just right but the sauces are game changers. That orange habanero is just insanely delicious & hot 🔥! I got the Al pastor which were also really good - the pineapple balanced the heat beautifully. The chips were thick & crisp & the guac was perfect. She got the Jamaica drink though we're not sure what it was exactly, it tasted kind of cherry & was really tasty. So my wife has been GF for about 19 years now but she wasn't super adventurous before so she'd never had a churro. We ordered the churros. We loved the churros. There's a decent number of them in the bowl for $8 & they definitely need the dulce de leche to cut the greasiness. Total with tax & tip was just over $50 which, let's face it, isn't bad for 2024. Especially when you're basically guaranteed a safe GF meal. Highly recommend this place! Oh, btw, we parked on the street nearby in the 1h free parking spot & were out before the time was up. See you on the road!
I paid 14 dollars for my meal (3 tiny beef tacos), & the portion was a little disapointing but my drink was also 14 dollars, & it was the size of a toddlers cup. Literally like a 3 ounce cup for 14 dollars. Julio wins the prize for single most overpriced drink I've ever purchased in my entire life. If you guys are going to price your cocktails at such high levels you should provide more options for cheaper drinks besides overpriced beer. I felt absolutely gouged after leaving, & I left hungry after spending 40$. Silver lining is the service was incredible & they were nice enough to offer us another free small bowl of chips to finish the guacamole free of charge.
