Food tasted quite good. We got takeout: a Setas quesadilla ($17) & a Carnitas quesadilla ($16), each made of 3 small 4' tortillas, with a light filling (~2.5 tbsp), some mozzarella-style cheese, & a small cup of white sauce (tasted like a sour cream blend) per quesadilla.
With tax & tip(yes of course, prompted even for takeout now), the total came to just under $40 for the two. That felt like a lot for the portion size. The restaurant does market itself as'Mexican-inspired' rather than authentic, so I won't ding them on that front, but the price still felt high for what we got.
Still, it was decent enough that I'm curious to try more of the menu.
Really delicious food. Amazing service with both English & French explanations about the food, the kitchen, the drinks. We ended up buying bottles of some of their homemade sauces because they were just so good. I had the octopus & can honestly say I've never had such tender seafood! Highly recommend.
Je donne 4 étoiles pour la nourriture, qui est toujours excellente. Malheureusement, le service laisse grandement à désirer.
Il y avait plusieurs serveurs sur le plancher, mais très peu de présence auprès des clients. La cliente assise derrière nous a même dû interpeller un serveur, puisqu'il lui tournait le dos & ne semblait pas remarquer qu'elle avait besoin de lui.
Étant moi-même serveuse, j'ai été surprise de constater qu'après le service des assiettes, il n'y avait eu aucun suivi. Personne n'est venu vérifier si tout allait bien, nous n'avons pas reçu d'ustensiles, aucune sauce piquante ne nous a été offerte, & nos verres sont demeurés vides pendant un bon moment. Ce manque d'attention est dommage, autant pour l'expérience des clients que pour les ventes supplémentaires qui pourraient être réalisées.
Au moment de demander l'addition, nous étions parmi les derniers clients encore présents. Après une longue attente, mon copain est entré pour demander la facture. Le serveur, qui discutait au bar plutôt que de s'occuper de ses dernières tables, lui a répondu : « Je peux t'aider? OK, tu peux retourner dehors, j'arrive », sur un ton qui donnait l'impression que notre demande le dérangeait.
Nous sommes des clients réguliers & c'est pourquoi cette expérience nous a particulièrement déçus. C'est dommage de constater que, malgré le renouvellement du personnel, l'ambiance chaleureuse, le professionnalisme & la passion qui faisaient autrefois la force du service semblent s'être perdus

Absolutely delicious, with tasty house hot sauces & amazing white wine sangria. We were too busy enjoying our food to take pictures. The staff are friendly & knowledgeable in both French & English. Véritable cuisine mexicaine au coeur du quartier Saint-Sauveur! Muy caliente! Une belle carte des cocktails avec ou sans alcool. Plusieurs choix de plats à partager avec un soucis du détail & beaucoup de saveur. Peu, pas ou légèrement épicé, il y en a pour tous les goûts! Les sauces sont faites maisons avec une grande variété de plats avec une qualité prix imbattable. Resto coloré avec un service sympathique & courtois.
Top expérience au Julio! Assaisonnement précis sur chaque plat, service chaleureux & amical, beau lieu & belle ambiance. Un coup de coeur pour l'aguachile & le plat de pieuvre. Les tacos étaient authentiques, me rappelant mes voyages au Mexique. Les sauces piquantes maisons avaient une identité bien à elles, donnant un peps de saveurs, pas juste de piquant! J'y retournerai & je recommande chaleureusement! Sans oublier, Des prix très bas pour la haute qualité qu'on y retrouve. Longue vie au Julio!
Visiting from Ottawa. We went because our daughter is celiac. The hostess said it's a totally gluten free establishment. We are happy to support that, there are so few places that cater to %100 gluten free. Even the churros are of their own gluten free recipe, they are amazing! The staff & service were excellent & they were busy. I recommend making reservations. The food is authentic, expect a flavorful dish many with bright citrus highlights. They had 3 of their own hot sauces that were incredible. If the menu items says it's spicy, it will be! The servings were a little on the smaller size but having an appetizer, main, & dessert wasn't overfilling. When we come back we will absolutely return. 10/10
La place était vraiment bien & le service impeccable.
Par contre, la nourriture était froide & Il manquait de saveur :/ le churros ne goûtaient rien, mais ils étaient sauver par la sauce au caramel. Mes quesadillas n'avaient pas de saveur & le fromage était a peine fondu.
